RELATIONSHIP WITH BEST FRIEND
Kinsley met Julian during her first year of high school. As her second year only in public school, she was still very disoriented, and becoming friends with him was like being thrown a lifeline. He is one of the few people with whom she feels she can fully and unconditionally be herself, and he's helped her learn a lot about herself and society in general. He feels more like a brother to her than any of her siblings, and if she could spend all of her time at his place, she definitely would. She can be at times very uncertain of herself still, and she definitely appreciates his tendencies to being a teddy bear as she often finds physical touch to be reassuring, which isn't something given very freely in her family. She honestly doesn't know what would have become of her through her high school years if it hadn't been for him, and he's quickly become the most important person in her life.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
She was raised in a very strict religious setting. As such, her parents don't know much of Julian's family life as she worries they would make her stop being friends with him.
She is a lesbian, which is something else her family is unaware of - and something she only came to terms with after meeting Julian.
She was homeschooled until about an eighth grade level, when her father got laid off and her mom had to find work.
She is one of nine children, fifth in birth order. The three oldest are moved out, so she typically helps out a lot with the younger kids.
