PERSONALITY
Lauren's an introvert, and a bit of a loner at that. She's only got a few friends here and there, and only one or two whom she would actually consider to be close friends, which is plenty enough for her. She finds it a bit tiring to get to know other people, and have them get to know her, so she figures the best way to go about it is stick with the people she already knows while she's got them around. Making new friends is something that comes more from a necessity for her than anything else, like when her best friend since pre school moved away in fourth grade. She just doesn't find it very easy to create a bond with others, and seeing as she's most often more comfortable being by herself or with a very limited amount of people, she sees social situations as bothersome and mostly unecessary. Parties are definitely not her scene, and as such it doesn't offend her in the slightest when she's left out of her classmates' gatherings.
Although she can be a bit apathetic at times, dance is something she is very passionate about, and has been ever since she was a child. Dancing is the one thing she really gets excited about, and she dedicates a lot of her time to practicing and bettering herself - a bit too much sometimes, putting it ahead of her studies and chores. Of course, she does try not to push her schooling aside too much, seeing as she's been wanting to go the Academy ever since she was eleven and she knows she has to make the grades, but she just so happens to be one of those incredibly annoying people who can get great grades without even really trying or studying very hard. She's athletic, mostly out of necessity than anything else because she knows she has to keep in good shape in order to keep bettering her dancing skills, but when she's not working out or practicing her routines, she's actually a bit on the lazy side, and she's definitely more sloppy than neat, with a room that looks like a disaster zone most of the time.
Being fairly young still, she hasn't had very much experience in dating just yet, although she's had a very crushes here and there, mostly on boys but also on girls once or twice. She doesn't really worry herself about it for the time being - if she can't be bothered to get to know people on the basis of friendship, she figures that getting involved in an actual relationship won't really work all that well for her, especially since she's hoping to be accepted at Gordon Parks' once she applies during this coming year.
LIKES AND DISLIKES
Lauren's favorite color is lavendar, and she's not a fan of yellow. She loves winter, and could do without summer. She's a mouse person, and she hates cats. She could eat seafood any day of the week, and she craves red velvet cupcakes most often, but she hardly ever eats beef, and dislikes watermelon. She's not a pop drinker, she much prefers iced tea. She loves to dance and write, but dislikes going shopping. Her best subject in school is English Lit, and her worst is Math.
APPEARANCE
Most people would think that Lauren takes her looks after her dad, but she's actually got quite a bit of her mother in her, from her slightly fuller cheeks to her pointed chin, with the same straight nose, complexion, blue eyes and full lips - really, the only attribute she shares with her dad is her long, black hair that falls into her eyes, but being such a contrasting aspect of her appearance, it is often what people notice more about her, and as such confuse her as taking more after her father. She stands at an average height of 5'4", with a slender build and few curves, and she doesn't exactly share either of her parents' interest in fashion or clothes in general. Mostly, she's just glad she can pretty much just go down into the family store and pick whatever she wants when she does feel like having something new.
FAMILY DYNAMICS
Lauren has always been a bit closer to her dad than to her mom, mostly because her mother's slight tendency to be a bit dramatic at times can get annoying to her. However, she's not excessively family oriented as a starting point, seeing as she does prefer spending time on her own, or with her best friends. She doesn't very often confide in her parents or go to them for advice much, she's got much more of an independent side to her and she wants to do things on her own as much as possible. She's at that age when family things as seen as a bit more of a bother than anything else, but ultimately, she doesn't complain too much when those evenings do come around.
She's not super close to her brother either, although she did use to follow him around a lot when she was little. His protective side has started to get to her a bit more though, as she doesn't really feel as though she needs to be protected of anything. She does, however, have a bit more of a habit to go to her brother to talk to about her problems and confide about her goals than she does going to her parents, even if she will usually prefer speaking to her friends first.
