PERSONALITY
Most people who've known Gabby her whole life would describe her as a force of nature. She's always been the kind of person who steps in a room and commandeers the attention, whether she's doing it on purpose or not. She's always had a knack of storytelling, and although she's not as talkative as she was as a young child, she does love conversing with people and sharing experiences. With her excitable nature and a rather low level of patience, she's always had a bit of a hard time waiting for her turn, which has gotten her in trouble more than once, although she's gotten better with age. She's got a very determined streak in her, and she doesn't take no for an answer without first fighting for it, and the more important it is to her, the harder she'll fight. Theater is by far her biggest passion, and she never feels quite as comfortable and at home as she does when she's on the stage - she could spend hours reading lines and examining every single aspect of a character to figure out how to perfectly and flawlessly embody it. Far from being vain about her skills though, she generally attributes her talent to being inherited from her mother, but anyone who've seen both of them perform can tell that she lives it in a way Ayla never has.
Her acting skills do tend to follow her off the stage, as an unconscious shield against the world. People generally view her as confident and a little brash, full of energy, always looking for something new to do and explore. She can definitely pass as someone who is very little affected by what people say or think of her, especially when she gets in a confrontation with her sister. Mostly, she's just learned to internalize, a lot. She is excessively insecure about many things in her life - she doesn't really know where she belongs or where she's wanted, and she tends to close herself off to people before they get too close. She refuses to let people see her get hurt and instead deflects to anger. Even her acting talent had never seemed like a big deal to her, just something she did, until she received her acceptance letter from Juilliard. She doesn't have very many friends, but those she have tend to see a very different side of her, less guarded. She has a lot of kindness to show to others, with a genuine love for learning, if maybe not in a strictly academic sense. She tends to have an easier time bonding with strangers she knows she'll never see again, people who seem lonely and in need of companionship sitting alone on a park bench, people who perform in the metro. She finds herself compelled to hear their life story, and she feels more at ease with being herself in those situations than she does with people she's known her whole life, including her family.
Relationships, steady ones anyhow, are far from being her priority. She doesn't really think of herself as someone who can actually be involved with someone else that seriously, and as such she does tend to go for flings a bit more readily than anything else. She's very open and very comfortable about sex and her sexuality in general, but she doesn't just allow anyone to get close to her. She's done her fair share of one night stands, but in her opinion, casual hook ups don't equal low standards - they're just one more way to get new experiences. She does find herself attracted to both men and women, but since she does tend to get along with guys better than girls even in her every day life, she does tend to have more male partners than otherwise.
LIKES AND DISLIKES
Gabrielle's favorite color is purple, and she's not a fan of orange. She loves spring, and could do without winter. She's a hamster person, but hates spiders. She could eat chicken alfredo any day of the week, and she craves strawberries most often, but she hardly ever eats cornbread, and dislikes oranges. She's not a pop drinker, she much prefers iced coffees. She loves to act and find treasures when thrift shopping, but dislikes being ignored. Her best subject in school is Languages, and her worst is Math.
APPEARANCE
Gabby's most striking feature is, without a doubt, her purple hair. She keeps it at a medium length, only just reaching her shoulders, and although it's a bit thin to her taste, it works well enough as she prefers keeping it straight. She has her mother's blue eyes, although hers can look a bit grey once in a while, as wel as her full lips and slightly pointed chin. Her skin is fair and smooth, and she rarely allows herself to get too much sunlight as she prefers it that way. She has a slender build and is the shortest of the family, though only by one inch, standing at 5'2". Her fashion sense is fairly typical of a teenage girl of her age, with lots of skinny jeans and fashion tops, although one of her favorite place to shop is thrift stores.
FAMILY DYNAMICS
Gabrielle's relationship with her family isn't really at its best right now - actually, in all essentials, it's pretty strained. When she was little, she was daddy's girl, always wanting to be around him and do things with him, but his effort to make sure he divided his attention between his kids evenly, which due to her personality type eventually forced him to not pay attention to her until whoever he was speaking to was done talking rather than let her interrupt them, eventually started affecting her, and to this day she still feels the loss of that closeness. As for her mom, she was never quite as close to her, and now that she's a teenager, she especially doesn't want to let her rule her life.
With her sister, it's pretty much an open war. Gabrielle takes a lot of places, and always tries to, whereas Kristen is very dramatic, and as such it isn't rare for shouting matches to happen whenever they're both bac home. Honestly, Gabby doesn't feel any need to even get closer to her sister, and since the older girl isn't making any effort in that direction either, she figures she feels the same way. She does feel a bit closer to Shawn, but with her being at the Academy and his having moved away from home, she doesn't want to let herself depend on him.
