When Shane pulled into the parking lot of the tattoo shop he'd recently taken full time ownership over from his mother he was surprised to find that there was another car there. It couldn't be a client of his, since the shop wasn't due to open for another half an hour but, right, the other unit in the building was being rented out now. He'd noticed the 'grand opening' signs going up for some sort of floral shop or something. One of the people who was working on getting that place open must have been the owner of the car.
Whatever.
The first thing he did when he went inside was go to the break room, a small place just barely big enough for the small table and chairs that were inside of it, to start up the coffee pot. He was blessedly still above getting hangovers even as he neared the age of 30 but the late night still left him tired. Thus he gratefully took a long swig out of his mug once the coffee was ready before making his way back out front to look over opening the drawer and double check the company email as well as the phone for any cancellations or requests for appointments today.
There were a few emails inquiring about availability later in the week, so he responded to those to fill the time before the shop would officially open. He had an appointment first thing, so he knew that he wouldn't have time to answer them later. Of course, Elsie could always answer when she came in but she'd bitch about it if she had to since technically he was supposed to do it.
Speaking of Elsie, he looked up when he heard the tell tale sound of her motorcycle engine pulling into the lot and sure enough a few minutes later the blonde was walking through the front door. She held her helmet under one arm and her purse was slung over the other, black like the leather of her jacket.
"Good morning Elsie," he greeted with a grin.
"Oh fuck off," she grumbled, flipping him off as she reached up to rake a hand through her long blonde hair.
"I see you're in a great mood this morning."
"Well not all of us are lucky enough to be hangover free," the blonde snapped back as she made her way back to the break room to drop her things off.
When she was back out, he spoke up. "I didn't make you drink that much last night."
"Excuse me, it was your shitty double date that you dragged Karen and I on. And I had to keep drinking so that I didn't stab my eyeballs out." She was in the midst of pulling her hair into a bun that would keep it out of her way while she worked. "Where do you find these women anyway?"
"Tinder," Shane answered with a shrug. "And she wasn't that bad."
Icy blue eyes fixed on him. "You say that cause she blew you. The rest of us had to listen to her talk without such benefits."
"That did make up for some of what she said," he allowed with a smirk. "You have to admit that she was hot though."
"Not hot enough to be that annoying. Now shut up and let me have some peace and quiet before clients start getting here."
Elsie was saved from a response from him as the door opened and his first client of the day stepped through.
"Rosie!" he exclaimed excitedly. "Good to see you again."
"Shane," Rosie smiled. She was a semi-regular in her 40s who came in and preferred to work with Shane. "I'm excited to be back."
"I'm excited to have you. Let's go get you set up." He knew he'd have an enjoyable session with her. They got along well and she was just so fun to talk to.
After Rosie he had only a short break between clients and Elsie was already with her own client at that point. So, he took his next two clients without time to talk to her which she probably prefered.
The two of them were friends, but mostly due to her dating his best friend of many years, Karen Parker who he'd grown up with. In a way he'd grown up with Elsie too and her twin sister Chloe, but they'd never been as close as they were now until she'd started working at the parlor and then again with her change in relationship status.
Right before what would be his lunch break, Elsie was also client free and the two of them were relaxing when the door opened.
Shane looked up to see what had to be one of the most beautiful women that he'd ever seen before. She was tall with long wavy brown hair and brown eyes, a patterned dress showing off some (but not nearly enough) of her legs. The dress clung slightly to the curves of her body and he found himself looking her up before he could stop himself. In her hand she held a small potted plant.
To his side Elsie noticed and rolled her eyes. "Can we help you?" she asked dryly.
"Oh, hello, my name is Kylee. My partner, Julie, and I just opened up the flower shop next door. Or well, tomorrow is the grand opening actually." She had a nice voice, somewhat lower than Shane would have initially expected her to have but it was warm and smooth. "Anyway, since we'll be neighbors I just wanted to come over and say hello. Offer you a little something for your shop, let you know in case you wanted to stop by tomorrow."
Then she smiled and it felt like the world stopped for a moment. She had a blindingly beautiful smile, wide and white and it light up her entire face. Damn. If they'd been out at a bar he'd have walked up and bought her a drink, but obviously he couldn't do that here.
Plus, not to mention she'd just brought up a partner. He wasn't even sure if she was avaliable to begin with.
"You said you and your partner were opening the shop?" he questioned, figuring that there was no harm in clearing that up.
"Julie, yes," she offered a nod and the smile stayed on her face.
What the hell was he supposed to read from that? Was that a yes or a no to being romantically involved?
There was a beat of silence and he heard Elsie mutter under her breath, "Jesus Christ." Then she let out a deep sigh. "Do you mean partner as in business partner or partner as in fuck buddy?"
It was a little crass, but Elsie had always been so and she simply stared at Kylee expectantly.
A light blush took over Kylee's cheeks and Shane wondered what it would take to make her cheeks flush a dark red.
"Oh, um, no we're not-" she tucked a strand behind her ear and shifted on her foot. "Involved like that. We're just friends."
Unbidden, Shane could feel a smile start to pull at the corner of his lips and he moved around the counter so that he could take the plant from Kylee. "Sorry about Elsie, she's a bit blunt. I'm Shane, I own the shop here," he held out a hand for her to shake and she took it gratefully. "It's nice to meet you."
"It's okay." She offered a nod in Elsie's direction. "It's nice to meet you too."
"You said that your grand opening is tomorrow?"
"Yeah, we're open 9 to 5."
"I'll be sure to stop by," Shane offered his most charming grin to her and she handed the plant over to her.
He watched her eyes light up and then dart down before returning to his eyes with a smile that she didn't seem to be able to stop. "I guess I'll see you then."
"Count on it," he gave her a wink.
She blushed lightly and turned on her heel, clearly wanting to leave. It gave him an excuse to check out her ass. It looked great in the dress.
"Okay then, see you tomorrow," she spoke quickly as she pushed through the door but he saw her tucking her hair behind her ear again.
"I think I'm gonna like our new neighbor," he said, still looking out the door where she'd left.
"Ugh," Elsie groaned. "Go on lunch loverboy. I don't want to listen to you go on about flower power."
Shane turned back to his friend and offered a taunting grin. "I have a feeling this is just the beginning of you hearing about Kylee."
All Elsie did was close her eyes and sigh in response.

The next morning, Shane was surprised when he found Karen in their shared kitchen, already sitting at the table with a mug of tea.
"I thought you were staying over at Elsie's last night?"
"She and Chloe were having a twin night," Karen waved him off. "Want to tell me why you're up so early? Could it have something to do with a certain flower shop owner?"
"And here I thought you and Elsie were too busy to talk about me," he taunted as he fired up the coffee maker. "But if you want to know, I did meet my new neighbor yesterday and yes she is an insanely hot goddess and yes I am planning on showing up at her grand opening to dazzle her."
"Dazzle her? Shane, you haven't dazzled a single person in your life."
"I'm wounded," his hand came up to his heart. "You should know that I frequently dazzle women with my brilliant charm and amazing good looks."
Karen fixed him with a look that he was certain she'd only improved from proximity with her girlfriend.
"Look at me all you want but I'll have you know that Kylee is gonna fall for me hard. I'm showing up today with a congratulations on your shop opening gift."
"And what, pray tell, is the proper gift for that?"
"Cake."
"Shane, cake is not the gift for any occasion." She looked at him like he was an idiot.
"Cake has never failed me once," he answered stubbornly, pouring a glass of coffee when the machine indicated that it was ready. "I'm gonna stop by the Walmart, pick up a cake and sweep her off her feet."
"If that works, I feel sorry for straight women everywhere."
"I thought you already felt sorry for straight women everywhere?" he teased with a grin, taking a swig out of the mug and then immediately wincing. "Ow, hot."
"You know what, go ahead and shoot your shot. If a cake convinces her to date you, she deserves it."
"Come on Karen, you know ladies love all of this," he gestured to himself. To the lean but toned frame, to the tattoos that wound around his arms and the ones hidden under his shirt and down his legs.
"Not ones with taste," she shot back, eyeing his messy brown hair and the stubble that covered his jaw.
"I don't know why you're so mean to me."
"Gay rights," she shrugged.
"Well you know I can't argue that so I guess I'm gonna go get ready. Wish me luck with the flower goddess." He gave a cheeky grin and made his way out of the kitchen.
"I absolutely do not wish you luck!" she called back, pulling her phone up to look at it more intently.
After a quick stop at Walmart where he picked up a cake that did not have any writing but got someone to quickly add some writing on it just to say 'happy opening day' he was in his car on the way to the parlor. They didn't open until 10 so he had plenty of time to go over and talk a bit with Kylee before he had to do the responsible thing and go to work.
Despite the fact that the flower shop was already open there were only two cars in the parking lot when he arrived. That probably didn't mean good things for his new neighbors. A grand opening banner hung over the door and a few balloons were also outside.
Still, he made his way over and into the shop which was a bright place with tons of colorful flowers around.
Behind the counter a woman stood who was decidedly not Kylee. Her black hair was pulled into a simple braid and her brown eyes were framed by a pair of white frame glasses that seemed to pop against her deep tan skin. She smiled a wide but slightly crooked smile at him. "Hello, welcome to Sunshine Florist. Is there anything I can help you with today?"
"Hi, my name is Shane. I actually own the shop next door," he gestured with a nod toward it. "I was wondering if Kylee was here?"
"Ahh," the dark eyes sharpened on him. "Shane from the tattoo parlor. Yeah, let me grab her."
"Thanks." He held the cake somewhat awkwardly, wondering where everyone was on a grand opening day. Shouldn't there be more people?
A couple of moments later Kylee came out with Julie, she was already smiling. Today she wore a floral blouse with a neckline that was a bit high for Shane's personal taste but that still managed to look fantastic on her, as well as a pair of slim fit pants that seemed to make her long legs look all the longer.
"Shane, I didn't expect you to stop by first thing," she said, moving over to him.
"Well, I didn't want to miss out on any of the festivities though.." he trailed off slightly, looking around the empty shop.
Instead of being offended, as he partly expected, Kylee kept smiling. "Oh, that's because the festivities aren't starting until about noon. We knew people wouldn't want to be here early so we planned for the events to start a bit later. Give some time to those who want to stop by when it's quiet and some to those who want to be involved. Is that a cake that you've got?"
"Yeah, it's for you," he held it out to her. "Figured that I couldn't exactly congratulate you with flowers." A teasing grin crossed his face.
She laughed, loud and unapologetic and sounding like some sort of music to his ears. "This is very kind of you. Thank you," she reached to take the cake.
"No problem. I guess if you're not starting I'll have to miss all the fun," he sighed dramatically.
"Well, you're welcome to come over on your lunch break," Kylee offered.
"But then when would I eat lunch?"
"Right," she gave a small chuckle but looked somewhat disappointed.
"Although, maybe you could tell me about it later?" he suggested as if the idea had just come to mind.
She brightened at that. "That'd be great. Like tomorrow?"
"Or maybe over dinner sometime?"
A light flush crossed her cheeks and he saw her turn her head slightly as if she was going to look at Julie but she stopped herself. "Um, yeah," she gave a grin. "That's an option too."
"What about Friday night?" He'd have work on Saturday but mid-week dates were always slightly weird and he had no problem going in on little amounts of sleep.
She considered for a moment, instead of saying yes right away and he wondered if there was a reason for it. "I kind of have plans already on Friday," she said finally.
"Ah." Now it was his turn to be disappointed. "Saturday?"
Her nod came quickly. "Saturday would be great."
"We'll sort out the details later," he promised and gave her a wink before he glanced down at his watch. "I've got to get going. Good luck today."
"Thanks again for the cake," Kylee lifted it slightly.
"Bye Shane!" Julie's high voice called from further back in the shop.
"Nice to meet you, Julie!" he called back and walked out the door. Elsie wasn't going to be into work today, so he pulled up the group chat that went between himself, Karen and Elsie.

The next day Shane was off of work, but he still made his way over to the flower shop nonetheless. He got in as Elsie was going on lunch, which she was apparently going out for because she walked out the door and saw him.
"Really?" she questioned, eyeing him in distaste. "Why didn't you just get her number like a normal person?"
"I need flowers," he answered defensively.
"For what?"
"Kevin and Andrea's house warming dinner?" He gave her a look. "The one that's happening on tonight?"
Elsie let out a groan. "I had forgotten about that."
"Well now you're reminded. I'd bring wine but I figured you and Karen would be all over that and last time when everyone brought wine to Emily and Thomas' house thingy there were comments." Maybe the comments were that since there was a lot of wine to go around he and Karen had gotten quite drunk. Either way, probably best to avoid that happening this time.
"I don't see why they need another house warming dinner. We did it with their first house," Elsie rolled her eyes.
"That was a condo. Now they're in a real house." How the two of them managed it with the amount of student debt they had to be in, he had no clue. "Besides, I think we should be expecting a big announcement. If you know what I'm saying."
"Ugh, not another baby." Elsie looked up at the sky.
"Definitely another baby. You know they wanted more than one and well, it's been a few years since the first."
Elsie grumbled something under her breath and then put her helmet on. "Good luck with your flowers, Shane."
"Maybe remind Karen about the dinner tonight!"
Elsie gave no response and Shane wondered if he should text Karen. But no, probably Andrea would text or their mom or someone. Either way, he made his way into the flower shop.
This time there were a couple of people inside and when Kylee glanced toward the door she was in the middle of helping a customer but a wide smile crossed her face.
He looked around while waiting for Kylee to be finished with her customer, trying to figure out what would even be a good house warming flower. There weren't labels about what was good for pets so he figured that he'd have to ask because Andrea would be highly unimpressed if he brought a plant that could kill her dog or cat into the house. As he looked over the flowers he realized that he didn't know anything about them.
"Can I help you find something today, sir?" Kylee asked from behind him after a few minutes.
He jumped slightly and then turned to her with a smile. "Oh, so it's okay to sneak up on customers now?"
"I wasn't sneaking. I was just coming to offer any assistance," she teased.
Today she was wearing a dress, it was a mustard color and it offset her skin nicely. Her hair fell loosely down her shoulders, looking soft and like the perfect place for him to tangle his fingers into. Warm brown eyes sparkled with a hint of teasing.
"Well in that case, I could use some assistance."
"With?"
"I'm going out with this absolutely gorgeous girl on Saturday but I'm unsure how fancy a date I should make it," he answered smoothly. "Don't want it to be too high pressure, but I definitely want her to know that I'm interested, ya know?"
Kylee had blushed a little when he'd called her gorgeous but she wasn't looking away. Instead she tilted her head to the side slightly. "Well, I mean, I think that most girls would prefer a first date to be something fun, but not something super causal."
"Fun but not super casual. Like drinks and dancing?"
She gave a nod. "That's certainly an option."
"Okay well then, in that case I guess I just have some flower questions."
"Oh, you have actual need of something here?" she sounded surprised.
"What, you thought I came here just because I wanted to flirt with the hot shop owner?" He smirked a little as he leaned closer.
"I," she cleared her throat and pulled back slightly, an absolutely adorable pink coloring her cheeks. "So what were you thinking of?"
"I'll admit that it was definitely an advantage to coming here," he spoke as if he were sharing a secret. "But my brother and sister-in-law are doing a kind of house warming dinner thing and I figured that I might show up with something other than wine for once."
"Very nice," she nodded with approval. "Do you know what they like?"
"Not a clue," he shrugged. "But they've got a dog, a cat and a two year old."
"Ahh, well that does limit things a bit," she said thoughtfully. "Probably the best would be some orchids. They're safe for pets and as long as they're kept up out of reach of the child they'll be fine."
"You're the expert," Shane agreed. "Get me your finest orchids then. Or, get some some reasonably priced ones."
She laughed and led the way over to the flowers, helping him to pick some out before taking him to the register. "I'm guessing that you want the vase with it?"
"Oh definitely," he scoffed. "I'm not showing up with no vase and looking like a thoughtless jerk, expecting people to provide their own vases."
She laughed. "With a vase it is then. Anything else I can help you with today?"
"I was hoping that I could get your number before I left today," he answered. "Is that something you can help me with?"
"I think I could help with that," she agreed after a moment in mock thought. "But I meant from the store."
"Oh definitely not from the store. I don't want to show up my other siblings," he teased.
"Very thoughtful of you," she teased back.
"I'm a very thoughtful person," he grinned.
Once the flowers were all set to go and as he was paying on his card, she grabbed her business card from one of the containers at the register and flipped it over, writing out a phone number onto the back. She had nice handwriting.
"Thank you so much for all your help today," he smiled, reaching to grab the card. "I'll text you."
"I look forward to it," she answered with a smile.
So did he.

Shane was in the car with both Karen and Elsie on the way over to Kevin and Andrea's new house. Since he and Karen lived together it made sense for the them to leave from there. Elsie had driven her bike over and was dressed like it still, in her leather jacket and ripped skinny jeans with a baggy t-shirt featuring an old rock band tucked into the front of them.
He'd heard Karen trying to suggest that she change and heard Elsie tell her that it wasn't like she could fit into anything that Karen owned which was correct. So they made quite the picture together. Elsie in her dark look with her blonde hair trown into a low pony tail, standing next to Karen in a pink skater dress with a low cut and her hair pulled into a complicated braided pattern.
Shane liked to think that he fell somewhere in the middle, wearing a plain red colored t-shirt and dark wash jeans that didn't have any rips in them. Elsie had brought a bottle of wine with her, which joined his flowers in the the front seat with Karen while the blonde sat in the back and was face timing Chloe.
"Get the flowers from your new girlfriend?" Karen questioned as they drove over.
"Not my girlfriend, but yes, the flower shop goddess is also very good at suggesting flowers. Who'd've thunk it?"
"Everyone is definitely going to realize you did not pick this out by yourself," Karen pointed out.
"Maybe I want to talk about her," he answered with a grin over at his best friend.
"Ugh. I forget how you get when you first get interested in someone."
"You're just bitter because you don't have a shot for her because you already settled for Elsie back there."
"Hey Shane?" Elsie said from the backseat. "I mean it when I say I hope you have a terrible date and die alone."
"Ouch. Way too harsh."
"You deserved it," Karen answered stubbornly.
The drive didn't take long before they were pulling up in front of a house that was set in a subdivision filled with houses that all looked very similiar to the one that had both his parents car, Karen's parents car and Emily and Thomas' car. Of course they were the last to arrive. No one expected otherwise.
Shane rang the doorbell and it was his brother who opened it, his two year old son, James, in his arms.
"Uncie Shane!" James exclaimed happily.
"Jamie bud!" Shane grinned and shoved the flower vase into Kevin's arms while he reached to take the toddler who was reaching for him. "How is my little buddy?"
"Good!"
"Nice to see you, Shane," Kevin said, addressing his brother who gave him a smile as he made his way in, giving way to Elsie and Karen. "Elsie." There was a slight fondness to his tone as he greeted the blonde. The two of them had a weird comrodare that Shane did not understand nor want to. "Karen." The same could not be said of his sister-in-law.
"Kevin," Karen sighed. "Where is my sister?"
"Hey Kev," Elsie greeted back with a nod. "We brought wine."
"In the kitchen, with your mom, your sister and your nieces," Kevin answered. "I'm heading that way to bring the wine anyway if the two of you want to follow me."
Shane did not follow his brother into the kitchen like Karen and Elsie did, a loud clammer of voices following them when they entered. Instead he went into the living room where his parents, Thomas and Karen's dad were all sitting. "Look who I found everyone. A little Jamie!"
"Seems to me that Jamie found you," Thomas suggested. "Considering that he was the one who was here first."
"Good to see you too, Tommy boy," Shane sent a grin to his twin.
"Found Uncie Shane!" Jamie cried happily, clinging to Shane's neck.
"Yes you did buddy and your reward is... tickles!" Shane cried and started to tickle the todller who immediately startde to shriek happily and squirm around in his uncle's arms.
"Stop! Stop! Uncie Shane! Stop!" he giggled.
"What? Stop? Should I stop with the tickles? Is that what you said?"
"Yes!"
Just then two pairs of feet came running into the living room and Shane saw his two nieces running in. Kate, who was five, and Anne, who was three.
"Uncle Shane!" They cried in unison as they threw themselves at his legs.
Letting up on his tickling, he set his nephew down and got down on his knees to scoop both of his nieces up into his arms. "Katie bug! Annie girl!" he placed loud kisses against their faces as they laughed and clung onto him. "How are the cutest little girls in the world?"
"I'm so good! I did so good at school today!" Kate started chattering excitedly while Anne just smile happily - having inherited her parents introversion.
And so Shane was caught up with his nieces and nephews until dinner started at which point he allowed himself to actually talk to the adults.
"Thank you for the flowers, Shane, they're very nice," Andrea said with a smile.
"Oh thanks. A flower shop opened up next to the parlor," he said. "And I kid you not, it's owned by the most amazing woman I have ever seen in my entire life."
"Oh, okay, so the flowers were about seeing her," Kevin said, looking up from where he'd been blowing on James' food after the toddler had insisted that his daddy blow on it.
Across the table Elsie tapped her index finger on her nose as she reached for her wine glass. Kevin smiled at the blonde.
"Things can be about two things," Shane insisted.
"They can, but I bet it wasn't," his mom answered. "Considering how much I had to listen about her yesterday."
"If you'd met the most amazingly beautiful woman in the world you'd want to have an excuse to see her again too."
"She's okay," his mom answered.
"I think it's nice that Shane is interested in someone," Emily threw in, giving her brother-in-law a smile.
"Does Uncle Shane have a crush?" Kate asked from her seat sounding eager. "Can we meet her?"
"Not any time soon," he answered back. "But yes.. .a crush is one word for it."
"Did you set up a date at all?" Thomas questioned.
"We're going out on Saturday. I'll be sure to text you all about it on the group thread."
"Great," his mom said drily.
Then the topic of conversation shifted for a while, going onto how work was going for Thomas and then Emily and everyone else. Kate told the story of how she made a new friend. Then when dessert was being served, Andrea cleared her throat.
"So while we are very happy to have you here, we also have a bit of an announcement," she spoke up and then shared a soft smile with Kevin who reached out and grabbed her hand with a light squeeze. "I'm pregnant. We're having another baby."
Immediately, there was a bunch of happy chatter and everyone was congratulating the couple. In particular, the moms and Emily got up to give Andrea a hug and the vet teared up as she thanked them for the congrats.
"Another baby cousin?" Kate asked happily, hugging Andrea's legs.
"That's right sweetie."
"Yay! I can't wait to meet them! When will they be here?"
Andrea laughed as she kissed the top of her niece's head. "Not for a few more months."
"Aww man," Kate pouted and Andrea gave her another little hug.
"I promise I'll let you know when we get closer."
There was more happy speaking until dessert was finished, at which point Karen spoke up. "Are you sure you're ready for another kid while James is still a toddler?" she asked, somewhat dubiously.
"Oh, right, we forgot to ask your opinion," Kevin said dryly, fixing Karen with a hard stare.
Next to her Elsie snorted a laugh into her drink, which earned her a glare from her girlfriend but Elsie was completely unbothered by it.
"I was just asking. I'm very happy to have another little one around. I just worry about Andrea working full time and you being gone all the time at the hospital and there is already James to worry about," Karen snapped back.
"Karen, sweetie, we'll be fine. Don't worry about me," Andrea answered, shooting her sister a small smile. "We've got it under control."
"Unless you're offering your help?" Kevin asked, with a raised eyebrow.
Karen fixed him with another glare and Elsie gave a shrug when her girlfriend looked at her for some back up, which only earned Elsie another glare before Karen turned away from her. "If you're sure, Andrea," she answered, apparently deciding to ignore her brother-in-law.
"I am."
And that ended the conversation. It was starting to get to the time where everyone was going to have to leave anyway.
After thanking them all for the meal, they headed out and Shane stopped Karen before she could get in the front seat.
"Oh I'm not having the two of you fight between the rows," he answered, knowing what was coming. "Sit in the back to fight."
"Well we wouldn't have to fight if Elsie would have had my back," Karen threw at the blonde as she made her way to get in the back with the other girl.
"You're a big girl," Elsie answered with a roll of her eyes. "And what Kevin said was funny."
"It was not! He's the least funny person in the world. You only think he's funny because you think he's hot."
"He is hot," Elsie answered simply with a shrug. "But that's not why I think he's funny. I just think he's funny."
"No, it's because if he wasn't married to my sister you'd want to fuck him."
Elsie let out a low sigh. "I am not having this argument with you again, Karen," she said stubbornly. "You know I'm seeing you and you know I don't have to be."
"Oh, so you're saying that you don't want to be seeing me," Karen was gesturing with her hands in the loud way that she did and Shane thought about asking her to chill so that he could see out his rearview mirror better.
"You know damn well that's not what I'm saying. Don't put words in my mouth."
Shane fumbled for his airpods in the glove compartment and popped them in, turning up the music because he knew that this argument would go on for a while and he didn't want to hear it. He just wanted to think about his upcoming date with Kylee. Besides, before the end of the night he knew the women would be having make-up sex. Another thing he wouldn't want to be hearing.

Just as Shane had suspected, by the next morning Karen and Elsie were completely made up and Shane was cursing the thin walls of the apartment that he shared with his best friend. He was going to need more coffee than usual to get through the day. He left the apartment early so that he might be able to stop in and see Kylee before he needed to get the shop open but when he went in he was told that Kylee wasn't working today.
So, he went back to the parlor and pulled out his phone to text Kylee.
hey! they loved the flowers last night, thanks for the great suggestion
oh I'm glad that they worked out alright how was the dinner?
food was excellent and i'm going to be an uncle again so a win overall did have to listen to elsie and my roommate/best friend get into a fight about my brother again but that's normal
aww that's amazing! congrats! you seem like you'd be a fun uncle
i am
lol but what's the problem with your best friend and your brother?
ahh well karen has always disliked kevin because she thinks he's boring and a 'sterotypical straight guy' but it got worse when we were teens. karen had a crush on elsie (she'll deny it forever) but elsie was interested in kevin but kevin and andrea have been together since they were freshmen in high school elsie is obviously over kevin now and she'll deny she even had a crush on him for longer than a minute but the two of them are kind of friendly and it always puts karen in a bad mood
oh yikes that sounds very complicated
that's why i stay out of it don't i promise i'm much less complicated lol
lol good to hear
Shane continued to text her throughout the morning and afternoon when he didn't have clients, enjoying the easy banter that they seemed to be able to fall into together. The texting served only to make him like her more, if that was possible but she was interesting and funny and he liked to talk with her. It made him look forward to their date all the more.
The next couple of days passed in the same way, with Shane and Kylee texting one another and with him swinging in to see her during his lunch break and chat until a customer came in and she actually had to do some work, at which point he bid her a farewell and told her that he'd see her tomorrow night. Not that he wasn't going to talk to her before that, but still.
"Ugh, gag me," Elsie muttered when he came back into the parlor with a spring in his step.
"Don't be jealous that I'm going on a date with a flower goddess and you're not."
"Do you even know a goddess that is related to flowers?" Elsie questioned dryly.
"Uh.. no but that doesn't matter. This isn't a greek classics class," Shane shot back. "So there."
The blonde rolled her eyes. "Whatever, I'm going on my lunch now so try not to miss the phone ringing while you're caught in your day dreams."
"You're not as clever as you think you are," he told her as she headed toward the break room.
If he did spend most of his lunch trying to figure out the perfect way to spend his date with Kylee, well that was none of Elsie's business and she'd never be able to prove it anyway.
On Saturday he had to work until the parlor closed at 5 but then he went home to change at the advice of his mom, but when he came out with his traditional first date outfit of a pair of dark wash jeans and a plaid button down Karen actually booed from her spot on the couch.
"'I'm going out with a literal goddess" she pitched her voice low but made it mocking. "And yet you come out here looking like you're going out with just any girl in the world. Get your shit together Micklesen. Go change."
Rolling his eyes he let out a sigh and glanced at his watch. "I'm going to be late meeting her."
"So send a text and say you got held up at work, dipshit," Karen answered, crossing her arms under her breasts and glaring. "Then put on something that makes it look like you made a fucking effort."
Grumbling under his breath, Shane pulled out his phone and opened the conversation that he had been having with Kylee.
hey just a heads up i might be a few minutes late i'm sorry i got a little held up at work and glancing at the clock i'm not ready to leave just this moment
that's okay. I understand
i promise it'll be worth the wait and I'll try to get there as quickly as i can
well don't break any laws on account of me lol
we'll see, it'd be worth it
"Okay are you gonna stand there and flirt or are you gonna go get your ass dressed into appropriate date wear?" Karen demanded loudly.
Shane slipped the phone back into his jean pockets and made his way back to his bedroom so that he could change out his shirt for a dark form-fitting sweater and swapped his tennis shoes out for a pair of boots that Karen had gotten him the year prior.
"Are you happy now fashion guru?" he demanded when he stepped back into the living room.
Her blue eyes slid down his figure and she gave a half nod. "It's as good as your gonna get. Now remember to use a rubber and if you come back here tonight that I will personally murder you if I have to see your dick again. So please go somewhere with a door."
"Always so kind and helpful. I'll keep it in mind," he answered, grabbing his keys and dashing out the door.
Due to his speeding, he reached the restaurant (a local place well known for their food and casual yet fun atmosphere) only about 5 minutes late and saw Kylee waiting just outside the door. She looked as beautiful as ever, maybe a bit moreso even because the dark dress that she wore hugged her curves in just the right way while still managing to show off an impressive amount of leg. That was likely helped by the heels that she wore that brought her much closer to his own height and did amazing things for both her legs and her ass.
Her full lips split into a grin upon seeing him and she gave a wave as he approached. "I thought I said you didn't have to break any laws for me."
"And I thought I said that you'd be worth it," he teased back, leaning in to give her a quick hug. "You look absolutely amazing, by the way. That dress..." he made a show of looking her over again, his eyes lingering on the curve of her breasts and the softness of her thighs.
A light pink color had filled her cheeks when he looked back to her face but she seemed pleased. "You look very nice too," she answered.
"I'll have to let Karen know she was right to tell me to class up my look a little."
She laughed and he held out his arm for her to take so that they could head inside together.

Dinner was very nice. The food was great and talking with Kylee was as easy and fun as Shane might have hoped. The meal went long from how much they were talking, but they each ordered a few drinks along the way and the place still and the place still had some empty seats so he didn't feel bad about taking up a table.
By the time it rolled around to dessert, they decided to split a large piece of cheesecake.
"You've got a lot of hope that I'll share this equally," Shane teased when the dessert was brought out in front of them, taking hold of his fork and carving out a large piece to eat.
"Silly me, I thought that you'd want to make a good impression on your date," Kylee shot back with a wide grin, grabbing her own fork and taking a bite.
"I thought I was already making a good impression on my date." He smirked and gave a wink as he went in for another bite.
Although her cheeks colored the slightest bit, Kylee stared right back as she pushed her fork through the dessert. "I'd think you'd want to keep it that way then, if you were interested in it continuing."
His face broke way into a full grin. "Oh I'm definitely interested in it continuing." He slid the plate toward her. "If I've got to sacrifice the rest of the cheesecake, it's worth it."
Kylee laughed, the sound genuine and light as she finished off the remaining cheesecake. "Glad you were willing to make the sacrifice."
"For a beautiful date? Definitely."
She was smiling at him and he was smiling right back, certain that this date was going so damn well. He'd enjoyed every minute with her thus far and he could only see things getting better. Kylee was the complete package, drop dead gorgeous, intelligent, funny, quick witted and with just the right amount of sass to keep things interesting. He could only imagine how great things would be once they got to the point of getting back to one of their places.
"You know, there's a place I know not too far from here that's great for dancing," Kylee suggested. "If you wanted to keep things going."
Shane wouldn't have said no to things going back to one of their places but he could see the appeal in this too. "Dancing sounds great."
Some twenty minutes later they were inside the club, heading to the dance floor while music blared from the speakers. It was some techno beat that Shane vaguely recognized but could have never picked out for the life of him.
That didn't matter though, because he and Kylee were on the dance floor together. Her body was pressed close against his own as they danced together, moving in time to the rhythm and with one another. His hands slid along her sides as she moved with him, able to tell now that she wasn't wearing a bra at all with the way that his hands were able to feel the swell of her breasts beneath the fabric. It made him wonder if she'd forgone all undergarments.
When his hands moved down her body though, he could feel the outline of her panties through the dress. Nonetheless, he allowed himself to slide his hands across her ass, gripping at it as she nosed at his throat one of her hands tangled into the hair at the base of his neck while the other was moving across his torso, stopping now and again to grip at his shirt or at his arm.
The whole world seemed to have faded away and it was just the two of them, together in their own little bubble where his hands were on her and she was pressed close to him and nothing else mattered. All he wanted was to keep dancing with her, keep moving together. The ghost of her breath against his skin had him on edge for more, to actually feel those beautiful lips against his neck, down his chest.. wrapped around his cock.
The thought almost made him groan aloud, picturing her topless and on her knees, her thick dark hair falling in waves as she looked up at him with those big brown eyes while licking him slow and long. His fingers itched now to bury into her hair, tangle into the tresses and help her to take him in.
Fuck.
He was starting to get hard thinking about it and from the way that she looked up at him, a little wickedly playful but with a sort of hunger that sent a pang through him, she'd definitely noticed.
She spun around, so that her back was so him, one arm still reaching behind her and holding onto his neck as she grinded against him. Her ass rubbing against him in such a sinful way that he couldn't help but swear. "Fuck. Kylee." He wasn't sure if he wanted to tell her to stop or to keep doing this.
On one hand, he didn't want this to ever stop. He wanted to let her grind herself against him, to be able to feel the press of her ass against him and smell her hair right under his nose as she grabbed his hand and placed it back against her hip as if to let him help guide her.
On the other hand, he was quickly going from half mast to full hard on and it would be very noticeable to anyone that happened to come into contact with them which was less than ideal.
Hell if he had the will power to stop her though, so he decided to give back just as he was getting. Moving with her and letting his hands roam her body without ever getting to the places that he really wanted to touch, just ghosting in those directions as if he might actually do so.
They probably looked shameless to everyone else at the club. He didn't even care. So did plenty of other people he was sure.
After the next song ended, Kylee spun back around and although she had to talk loudly to be heard over all the noise, she leaned closer to his ear. "Want to get out of here?"
"Hell yes!" he agreed, taking her hand and moving toward the door.
The music faded more as they headed closer to the door and they were just about to step out when a group of women stepped directly into their path. Shane waved to let them pass, moving off to the side so to give them plenty of space and not planning on paying them anymore mind.
However, it seemed that fate had other plans for him because in the midst of that group was his Tinder date from a few nights prior and she certainly recognized him judging by the way that her face darkened.
"Oh," she said loudly, eyes narrowing as she took in Kylee. "I see."
Not wanting things to get out of hand, Shane decided to speak up right away. "Hi Tara. We're just heading out, so have a good time."
It was the wrong move because somehow Tara's glare got icier and then she turned to face Kylee. "Let me guess? Heading somewhere more private? Just don't expect him to give you a call after you blow him. It's a quick fuck and then out the door and you'll never hear from him again."
Kylee was looking uncomfortable next to him and Shane felt that this was really unfair.
First of all, it had not been a quick fuck. Or not exceptionally quick. Secondly, she was making it sound like he had not spent a good twenty minutes down between Tara's legs eating her out until she'd orgasmed quite happily.
"Tara, I thought we both left happy. I'm sorry I didn't call you but I thought we were on the same page about everything."
How many people actually expected their Tindr hookups to hit them back up? No one, as far as he knew.
Tara did not melt at all but simply fixed him with a death stare before glancing back at Kylee. "Trust me, he's not worth it." Then she turned on her heel and stormed away.
"Okay that's really not fair!" he called after her before turning back so he could explain to Kylee.
Only Kylee was already a few steps ahead of him and heading out the door, he followed quickly and caught up to her outside. "Kylee, will you let me explain what happened back there?"
"I think I got a pretty clear picture actually, Shane," she answered, her tone cool. "Thank you for tonight but I'm going to go home now. Alone."
"Kylee, it was just a Tindr thing. Completely different from-"
"Did you ghost her?" Kylee interrupted.
"Well, yes, I did but-" he started.
Kylee gave him a smile and a shake of her head. "Good night, Shane."
Then she turned and continued down the street too and he was left staring after her. "Kylee! Kylee, come on!"
She did not turn back, but continued to walk in a purposeful stride back toward where they'd left their cars.
Groaning, Shane threw his head back and looked up at the dark sky. How the hell had such an awesome date turned around so quickly? He'd been so sure he'd be going home with Kylee and now he was standing there, looking like an idiot as some people who'd been waiting to get into the club looked at him in various degrees of pity and amusement.
Cursing Tara under his breath, he made his way back to his own car, wondering why the world had to hate him so damn much.

As predicted, it turned out that Karen and Elsie were as helpful as a punch to the face. Karen said that if Kylee had to spend the evening with Tara that she would have understood. Elsie said that he really couldn't have expected any other outcome to this situation if Kylee had any sort of standards at all.
He'd sent texts to Kylee to try and apologize but they'd been left unanswered. Pulling up his phone, the sad evidence of the rejection very evident.
Kylee I'm sorry. I promise I was never going to do that to you.
things with Tara were way more casual. It was just a tindr hookup.
I really like you and I'm sorry if i made things awkward for you.
It left him no choice but to go in early the next day to try and apologize in person. So that was what he'd done. He'd gone into the flower shop ready to plead his case with Kylee and make her understand that she was very different from the typical hookups that he'd had in the past.
What he wasn't expecting was that when he entered the shop he'd be met with Julie's unimpressed look and Kylee quickly leaving to the back as soon as she caught sight of him.
"Kylee, I just want to talk," he called after her, sighing and looking to Julie to see if it was likely that he'd be able to get past her to follow Kylee through the door that was clearly marked with a flower shaped 'staff only' sign.
Julie was not looking like a good bet because she'd crossed her arms across her stomach and looked him over with one of the most judgmental stares that he'd ever seen. It was really rude. It also left no doubt that Kylee had 100 percent filled her in on what had happened the night before.
Then, because apparently looking at him unimpressed was not the way that she wanted to go, she spoke up. "Kylee's not really in the mood to talk to you," she said.
"I gathered that, but I really think that if we just spoke I could clear-"
Julie cut him off, holding up her hand in the universal 'stop' gesture. "Seems like communication isn't really your strong suit, is it?"
What the fuck?
Shane looked around as if wondering if there was anyone else there to witness him getting his ass handed to him with such a scathing remark. Luckily, it seemed that they were alone.
Still, his mouth hung open for a moment and he didn't know what he was supposed to say in response to that. "I- uh-"
"Have a good day, Shane," Julie said firmly, waving her hand toward the door in a shooing motion.
Well what the hell could he do but turn and make his way to the door? He was so confused and so thoroughly dressed down that he felt there was nothing left for him.
When he reached the door, he cast a look over his shoulder and caught Kylee peaking out of the staff door, only to close it quickly when she saw him. Julie fixed him with a hard glare and an upwards nod encouraging him to leave.
That was how he'd found himself sitting in the parlor an hour before his first appointment, still trying to figure out what the hell he was supposed to do.
So he did what he always did when he had a problem that he couldn't solve, he pulled out his phone and he called Thomas.
Except, Thomas had a 'real person job' with 'grown up hours' and so he was already at work. He still left a message. "Thomas, dude, this could have been an emergency. Actually, it is an emergency. A romantic emergency. Call me when you have time or whatever after you're out of your boring meetings."
Karen and Elsie had already given their own unhelpful advice so he wasn't going to drink from that well again.
This left another option. To be honest, Shane never knew what the hell Kevin's hours were. He worked at a hospital and that meant that his shifts made approximately zero sense to him.
"What happened?" Kevin's voice came through on the third ring, he already sounded tired.
"Why does something have to have happened for me to call you?"
He could almost hear the dry look that his brother was giving him. "Shane, don't be stupid. Why are you calling?"
Instead of answering, he decided to ask the most important question first. "Are you working today?"
"No, I'm not working today." Somewhere in the background the sound of James' toddler feet running across the hard floors could be heard.
Oh, what a relief. "Great, I've got a problem."
"What kind of problem?" Then, as if he was holding the phone away from his face, he continued. "James, no. No. That's the dog's toy, we've been over this, you can't put it in your mouth."
James started crying in the background, apparently unhappy to have his (the dog's) toy taken away from him.
"Last night I went out with Kylee-" he started, speaking loudly in case the phone was not close to his brother's ear.
"You're calling me about your date?" Kevin sounded mildly exasperated. "Shane, I've got a toddler to take care of."
"And I've got a romantic emergency!" he countered. "Kevin, she's the perfect woman and now she won't even see me!"
"What the heck did you do to her?" Kevin asked, but he was clearly in the midst of doing something with James because the crying sounded much closer to the phone now. Shane imagined Kevin picking up the toddler, trying to soothe him with pats on the back.
"We ran into one of my past hookups who told her how I'd ghosted her in the past and she totally ditched after that," he explained with a groan.
The phone sounded further away as Kevin said, "James, no, James, you can't hit me." There was some shuffling and then Kevin's voice was back on the phone. "Yeah that sounds like the right thing to do. You're kinda a.. meanie for ghosting girls in the first place. I don't know what else you want me to tell you but listen, I-" More shuffling and James' high pitched scream came through the speaker so loud that Shane cringed as he held the phone away from him. "I can't talk now. Just apologize to her and stop ghosting girls so it doesn't happen in the future."
"Kev-"
"Love you, bye!"
The line went dead. Shane held the phone back from his face and saw the end of call screen and then groaned as he threw his head back onto the chair. "Fuck. No one is any help."
If no one was going to help him how the hell was he supposed to win Kylee's good graces back? Maybe he could ask his mom when she came in later? She'd probably laugh at him, especially if he told her about Julie's icy comment but she might have some good advice that he could use.
It seemed she'd be his only hope. Until Thomas called him back. And if Thomas couldn't help and his mom couldn't help, he'd do what he did best... get some cakes to apologize and keep at it until Kylee forgave him or came out to tell him that she didn't want to see him ever again.
Just great.

As it turned out, by the end of the day Shane had been told by everyone in his close circle that Kylee had probably made the right decision. Several people, in fact, seemed to think that it was Shane's fault to begin with for ever ghosting Tara.
"But Elsie and Karen said that I could and they're women!" he'd argued with Andrea.
She'd hummed as if she knew something that he didn't and said, "Well, they aren't actually the best source for a healthy relationship are they?"
"They've been happily together for like a year now! What are you even talking about."
Again, Andrea had made a sort of non-committal noise before she'd said that perhaps he should be taking advice from other people in his circle when it came to women.
"So, since no one else has any ideas I guess I've gotta get back to what I know best," Shane sighed over a beer while he sat across from Elsie and Karen at the dinner table. Elsie was still giving him no sympathy and Karen seemed to think that Kylee wasn't worth the hassle.
"Cakes?" Elsie raised an eyebrow as she polished off a bottle of Corona.
"Cupcakes," Shane corrected. "I don't know if I can convince the grocery store bakery people to write sorry on them so I guess I'm just going to get some piping frosting myself and make them."
"If a woman showed up to me with 'I'm sorry cupcakes' she would not endear herself to me," Karen pointed out, taking a swig out of the hard lemonade that sat in front of her.
"I'm not trying to endear myself to you though, I'm trying to endear myself to Kylee and she has responded positively to cake in the past."
"And what about the best friend who so savagely called you out last time you attempted to talk to her?" Elsie asked, though she was smiling. Probably because she'd laughed her ass off when she'd heard what Julie had said in his attempt to contact Kylee.
"I'll cross that bridge when I get to it." Truthfully, Shane just was going to keep working at it until he either wore Julie down or caught a time when she wasn't there. After all, she had to have days off. The store was open every day so she and Kylee couldn't always be there at the same time.
The next morning, he showed up to the flower shop with his cupcakes, simple vanilla topped with his own message of sorry spilled out across the half dozen. Julie was in and she looked at him unimpressed when she caught sight of him. Kylee wasn't anywhere to be seen. "These are for Kylee. If you could just let her know that I'm sorry and I'd still like to talk to her?"
"She's not working today," Julie answered.
His spirits sunk. "Oh, okay. Well, umm if you could just tell her still? Enjoy the cupcakes."
Julie accepted the container at least, though she did not make any promises that she would tell Kylee. He put his faith in the cupcakes.
That night he did not get a response, which Karen and Elsie were being stupidly smug about.
So he tried the next day with chocolate cupcakes and the same handwritten sad faces. Julie was there again and Kylee was too, because he saw her tuck into the back room when he entered the shop.
"More cupcakes?" Julie didn't look impressed.
"Please let Kylee know I'm sorry?"
Julie did not tell him that she'd do so. So he turned and left again, going over to the shop where he would have a long day thinking about Kylee and what the likelihood was that she would text him tonight. He wanted it to be high.
She didn't text.
The next day he was off work, so he came in a bit later but brought red velvet cupcakes. When he walked in Kylee was on the phone and she froze as she saw him, before quickly continuing to write on the form in front of her where she was apparently taking an order. He waited for her to get off the phone but there was another person in the shop and they came to the register. He could have waited but he felt a little like a creeper standing there with the cupcakes while she was working, so he simply put down the cupcakes on the side of the counter and gave her a nod and a smile before turning to leave.
It looked like she was at least somewhat conflicted at this point, which he supposed that he could count as a win.
Still, she didn't text that night. He was more dejected as he sat in the apartment, nursing a bottle of beer as he watched some shitty action movie on the tv. Elsie and Karen were out. Or, Karen was out and he assumed that she was probably with Elsie but he didn't know. Either way, he allowed himself to wallow slightly in his own pity party as he wished that he could just text Kylee and know that he would get a response. He read back through the texts that they'd exchanged before and groaned as he let his head fall back against the couch. Why had it been so easy to mess up things with such an amazing girl?
Determined not to give up, he showed up the next day with more cupcakes (lemon this time) and a plan to hopefully at least say something directly to Kylee.
When he entered, Kylee was behind the counter and she didn't turn to run away. Though when her eyes fell on the cupcakes in his hands, she seemed to make a decision.
As he approached, she spoke to him. "You have to stop bringing cupcakes."
Shane knew a rejection when he heard one and it stung. "Sorry, I was just... I wanted to let you know that I fucked up everything and I realized it and I just wanted to apologize. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."
A sort of complex emotion went over her face. "It's not that, it's just too many cupcakes. Julie and I are only two people. There's no way we'll finish all these before they go bad."
The wave of relief that swept through him at her words was stupidly strong. She didn't want him to stop contacting her (or at least that was what he was taking away from it), she just was objecting to the continued use of cupcakes. Karen and Elsie were going to be so braggy about this. "Is there something you'd prefer me to bring in for my penance?"
The start of a smile twitched at Kylee's lips and she looked like she was having a hard time holding it back. "Is that what this is?" she questioned. "Do you think that maybe your atonement is directed toward the wrong person?"
"Who else would it be directed to?" He was confused as hell but counting himself lucky that she was talking to him at all.
"Perhaps the girl that you ghosted?" Her dark brown raised and she looked at him as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
He barely managed to bite back the comment that he was not in the least bit sorry about her because he didn't think that it would work to make him look any better in Kylee's eyes and he was trying to keep himself doing well right now. "I think that might be a bit of a lost cause," he admitted. "Pretty sure I'm already on her shit list for life. Besides, I'm far more interested in getting back onto your good side. I really like you, Kylee and in case the cupcakes weren't straight forward enough I'm sorry for the way that night turned out. You're incredible and if you would just give me a second chance I promise I'd make it up to you."
She was silent for a long moment, looking at him with a sort of measured contemplation. It made him nervous and left him feeling as if he was being compared to some sort of rubric that he wasn't sure how he'd measure up again. However, he managed to keep himself silent - a skill that most people didn't imagine that he possessed because he liked to talk a lot but this seemed important not to rush her for.
"How long were you planning on bringing the cupcakes?" she finally asked.
"Until you told me to stop," he answered without a thought, knowing that it was true. He was stubborn as hell when he wanted to be and he would have been happy to spend a sizable chunk of his next paycheck bringing in cupcakes for Kylee every day if it meant that he'd be able to get a chance to do their date over again.
Finally, a real smile crossed her face and she shook her head. "You're pretty persistent."
"Only with things that are worth it," he countered, meeting her brown eyes with his blue-green ones and hoping that while it came out smoothly as a line she'd understand the truth behind it.
From the way that her cheeks colored slightly and her eyes moved toward the counter, he could guess that she at least suspected the truth behind the words. "What about next Friday night?"
"Are you offering me a chance to try again?" he asked to make sure.
She nodded. "Yeah, I am."
Now it was his turn to grin, unable to stop himself from pumping his fist in excitement. "Alright great! I promise that you won't regret it."
"I hope not," she said, looking up when the bell rang from the door indicating that someone else had entered the shop. "Hello. Can I help you with anything today?"
He gave a happy wave as he turned on heel to go next door to the shop. He was off today but he had the cupcakes to donate as Kylee wasn't going to be taking them.
Elsie was seated behind the counter when he walked in and his face gave it away before he was even able to say anything. "Oh no. No. Not the cupcakes working. Jesus, this girl needs to get herself some standards."
"Not even your bitter heart can get me down today, Elsie. I'm floating on a mother-fucking cloud," he sighed happily, plopping down in one of the chairs that was usually for clients who were waiting for appointments. "I've got myself a do-over date next Friday."
"Horary for you. Why do you still have cupcakes though?"
"Oh," he glanced down at the package still in his hands. "Kylee said I had to stop bringing her cupcakes. They're lemon, do you want them?" He remembered that both Hale twins had an affinity for the flavor.
"You know I do," Elsie answered, making a grabbing motion toward them but neither she nor Shane moved to make it happen. "But I see, she's trading a date to get you to leave her alone and stop giving her cupcakes."\
"Do you want these or not?"
Elsie fixed him with a look that said that she'd already told him her answer and was not about to repeat it.
"That's what I thought, so don't be a dick about it. Be happy for me."
"If I've got to be happy for you in order to get the cupcakes I'll just tell Chloe that I couldn't bring them home because you asked too much of me." She looked so damn unbothered that it wasn't fair because he knew that Elsie would definitely give up the cupcakes just to be mean to him and he didn't particularly want them either.
"You're the worst and I don't know why we're friends," he informed her with a dramatic groan, standing and sliding the cupcakes over the counter to her.
"Because our parents are friends and no one else wants to put up with your bullshit," she answered, opening the cupcakes and selecting the one with a sad face on it to immediately bite into.
He fixed her with a scowl that did nothing to make her appear even the slightest bit guilty. "That's it, I'm leaving to go and hang out with people who will actually be happy for me!"
"Have fun by yourself!" she called after him as he walked out the door.
Pausing outside he recognized that she won and swore that the next time that she slept over he was going to wake her up at an ungodly hour as a sort of revenge for how utterly rude she had been about the whole Kylee saga. Sure, it would end up starting a whole thing between the two of them that would probably last for a few months where each of them was always paying one another back for something until either Karen or his mom got caught in the middle of it at which point one of them would hand them their asses and cut an abrupt end to it.
His planning for how to get Elsie back exactly though could wait because he had to figure out how to plan the best do-over date that would be impossible to ruin in any shape or form and when he did... well things would end a lot better for himself and Kylee that time around.

Kylee texted him that evening and Shane was so excited about it that he almost spilled his red bull all over himself in his haste to open the message.
Why so many cupcakes anyway?
He cracked a grin as he typed back.
because no one ever says no to cupcakes.
I've got a cousin who hates them actually.
😱😱😱 You're joking
I am not. She says that there is too much frosting.
Too much frosting? Shane couldn't believe anyone would honestly dislike cupcakes over such a thing. He guessed that it was lucky that Kylee wasn't the one who didn't like cupcakes.
No offense to your family or anything but your cousin sounds insane.
Lol what would you have done though if I was like her?
That was easy. He'd never let something so mundane keep him in his quest to get back on Kylee's good side.
Found a different sweet to offer instead.
So all of your apologies are dessert based is what you're telling me?
He laughed, ignoring the questioning look that Karen gave him as he answered her back.
I heard somewhere that the stomach is the way to someone's heart.
lol Hard to argue with that logic
He knew that he was grinning like an idiot. And not just because Karen told him to "stop grinning like an idiot"
He did not stop grinning like an idiot.
I might have resorted to non food items at some point. I just needed you to know i was serious about wanting to apologize.
I did get that.
Good. I'm very excited to try and win you back.
Win me back?
He paused, wondering if he'd just shot himself in the foot and was going to have to make more apologies. Quicky, he tried to do some damage control.
Bad word choice? I don't mean you're something that can be won. More like win back your good graces.
He was not nervous as he waited for a response. Not nervous at all. Not when the three dots appeared and then disappeared. No matter what Karen said.
Well i can't wait to see what you come up with.
It was not a breath of relief that he let out either No matter how much it looked and sounded like one. He just happened to breathe then and start smiling again.
Trust me, you'll be blown away. I look forward to it 😉

This time he was early to the date, meeting up with Kylee in front of his favorite laser game place. There'd been some debate in his group chat as to if a laser tag date was the kind of thing that he should be aiming for this time around but Shane felt confident about it.
For one thing, he knew he wouldn't run into anyone there because he hadn't done a date like this since he was a teenager but for another it was much less pressure. Something that might make her feel like actually was trying to enjoy himself with her instead of just attempting to get into her bed.
After all, no one could say that laser tag known for being sexy.
He'd warned Kylee that this date would be more casual and she would need shoes she could possibly run in.
It seemed that she had taken his advise because she showed up in tennis shoes and a t-shirt that clung to her slight curves in a way that helped show them off. The jean shorts that she wore sold it though, short and cupping her ass in a way that made Shane shamelessly look her over. Her legs seemed to go on for miles, long and smooth and he wanted them thrown over his shoulders.
He had dressed as casually as she was, a dark t-shirt that showed off his tattoos and he'd been told he looked great in as well as a pair of dark jeans.
"I have to say, this wasn't what I was expecting," she admitted when she reached him.
"Think of it as a team building exercise," he teased.
"Oh so we need to be team building now?" She asked with a laugh.
"Sure, if we plan on being a team in the future," he said shamelessly.
To his amusement and delight she turned a light shade of pink. "And who are we playing against?"
The grin he gave this time was less playful and more competitive, "whoever is unlucky enough to take us on."
As it turns out, they make an excellent team. Kylee is great at watching his back and keeping track of where everyone is. He's skilled in taking risks and planning the offense. They play three games and are on the winning team every time.
By the time they're finished Shane is a little tired and Kylee looks a bit frazzled but she's smiling widely and it's obvious that she's had a great time with him.
"As undefeated champs, I think we should go out for a celebration."
Her eyebrow quirks up. "A celebration huh?"
"Yup." He popped the p.
"And what is the proper celebration for winning laser tag games?"
"Cupcakes," he answered immediately and with a serious face.
She burst into laughter, unable to help herself.
"I'm joking," he assured her.
"Great, because I'm cupcaked out."
"How do you feel about gelato? I know a place not too far from here."
"We haven't had dinner yet," Kylee pointed out which wasn't a no.
"We're grown adults, we can have gelato before dinner if we want," he countered.
For a moment it seemed like she's considering no but then she spoke, "Gelato sounds lovely."
It's a warm evening so they walked the few blocks to the gelato place. They fell into easy conversation about their favorite dessert places in the city and the memories that they have associated to them. Like their first date, they have no trouble talking all through the dessert and then end up winding up in a small local restaurant that neither one of them had ever heard of before.
The food was good and they were unrushed. No one came in and interrupted them and they walk together back to the laser tag place where they'd left their cars.
Shane walked Kylee over to hers and once they're there, he decided to ask. "So, have I started to redeem myself?"
"Hmm," she tilted her head to the side thoughtfully. "I suppose so. Although…"
She doesn't seem too serious so Shane wasn't stressed, confident that he was out of her bad grace. "Although?"
"There is something else that might help." A wicked sort of gleam was in her eyes.
"Anything." He was certain he wasn't going to be asked to do anything that he wouldn't want to do.
She grabbed a fistful of his shirt and yanked him down so that she can press her lips against his. The kiss was deep, passionate and fast and he gave as good as he got.
Their lips moved together almost sloppily, each of them trying to get as much of the other as they can and be wrapped an arm around her waist to bring her flush against him. He could then feel her breasts push against his chest and he let his hand slip down to grip at her ass.
Her tongue slipped into his mouth and he swallowed a moan as it danced along his own and one of her hands tangled into his hair, gripping tightly.
The entire world had faded to nothing and it's just the two of them, burning together and Shane wanted nothing more than for this to go on forever. He pushed her back against her car door, allowing himself to press their bodies more firmly together.
Her teeth nipped at his bottom lip and he swore he wanted nothing more than to lift her by her thighs and fuck her straight against her car in that stupid parking lot when she made a little keening sound low in her throat.
Then, just as suddenly as it began it's over. She'd pulled back and was looking up at him with blown pupils but she did not pull him back in.
"Well, I guess I should get going," she said as if she hadn't just kissed him within an inch of his life.
As if this was a casual goodbye and he cannot stand to be the only one who is going to be thinking about this tonight in his shower whole he's jerking off so he leaned forward and captured her in a searing kiss. His tongue slipping past the seam of her lips and his hand firmly gripping at her ass, bringing her forward so that she'll be unable to miss where his cock is already half mast in his tight jeans.
She looked a bit dazed when he pulls back and he felt satisfied for himself and the effect that he had on her.
"Goodnight, Kylee," he whispered, low and ragged.
He saw her swallow hard. "Goodnight, Shane."
"I'll text you," he promised her before walking over to his own car. Once he was inside he reached for his phone and decides to fuck looking cool or leaving any mystery at all.
Had an amazing time tonight. Can't wait to do it again 😉
Karen was going to call him whipped when he told her about this and Elsie was most definitely going to say he was a simp. It didn't matter. He was riding high and not even the discomfort of his half hard dick could bring him down now.

"Ugh you're insufferable like this," Elsie groaned as she sat behind the counter at the parlour, watching Shane grin as he answered back a text message that he had just received from Kylee. She was off today and he was between appointments.
"I thought you said that I was insufferable when I was, quote, bitching over being rejected, unquote," he answered without looking up from his screen.
"You can be insufferable at multiple instances," Elsie shot back, looking up when the door opened and one of her clients came in. "I've got my client, so take the phone Romeo."
"Will do, Katherine," he shot back.
"Katherine?" the blonde questioned, looking up from the spot where she was standing from greeting her client.
"Taming of the shrew." If she was going to insult him with Shakespeare he could do it right back.
"Oh, fuck off," she grumbled. "Come on Lindsey, I've got everything set up and ready for you."
Shane kept up his conversation with Kylee, the two of them just comparing notes on their days so far and making plans for another date. It'd been a few days since his do over and it seemed that he had done a good job because Kylee had agreed to going out with him again in two days time. Honestly, he was getting impatient with having to wait but he didn't want to seem like he was pushing her, especially since he'd already screwed up once and he didn't think that he really had the space to fuck around again.
Not wanting to seem too gone, he allowed himself to text other people as well. The problem was that everyone else was busy working. Thomas and Kevin with their boring grown up jobs never looked at their phones when they were on the clock. Neither did Emily. And Karen was a no go either. Not that it stopped him from sending forward updates and questions about what he should do on his date with Kylee the next time.
"You know, when I left you in charge somehow I thought that you'd do more than just text people on the clock." His mother's voice rang out. She must have come in the back because she was behind him, sending him jumping into the air at the sound of her words.
"Jesus, mom. Are you trying to scare the shit out of me?"
"Kinda, yeah," she answered with a clear amusement.
"Mission accomplished then. And I'll have you know, if you look at my appointment book I'm between clients at the moment," he pointed out. Not that he thought that she was actually upset with him, she just liked to give him shit when she was able.
"And I'm guessing that you're using that time to text the girl next door instead of cleaning up or giving clients reminder calls because you already have done everything that you can around here."
"Exactly. You get it, mom," he grinned teasingly.
At that she sighed and shook her head. "Well you're an adult now. I won't tell you what to do with your time. But maybe don't screw up this time because that cupcake thing was sad."
"It was not sad, it was effective!"
"That woman felt sorry for you."
"Not true!" he argued, offended that his own mother would doubt him so much. "I won her over with sugary treats, sure but she wanted to be won over."
"Listen, I went into that flower shop the other day and your girl is cute. She could do better, remember that."
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, mom." He gave her a dry look, hoping that it properly portrayed just how unimpressed he was.
Like usual, she didn't seem to have any shame about her reactions. "Well after how things went the first time I figured you could use the reminder."
"Clearly things are going better now though," he pointed out. "Hence all the texting."
"Yeah, yeah," she waved her hand.
The door opened and his mom's client stepped in. It was Elsie's mom, and she gave a nod toward them. She had more tattoos than Shane could keep track of though she usually got them in places that weren't visible to most people. Shane had once asked if Elsie was offended that her mom wanted his mom to work on her instead of letting Elsie do it. Elsie had laughed and said that she definitely did not want to work on her mom.
"Hey Holly. You're early. I wasn't expecting you for another ten minutes."
"Eh, I wanted an excuse to leave the office." She shrugged as if it were no big deal. "Besides, if you need a few minutes or whatever I'm fine with waiting. Isn't my daughter working today?"
"She's back with someone right now," Shane answered.
"Ah, I'll bother her later then. She owes me a bottle of tequila that she swiped last time she was over."
Said bottle of tequila was in Shane and Karen's apartment and definitely had been taken by Karen and not Elsie but that was for Elsie to hash out with her girlfriend. Shane was firmly keeping out of it.
"Nah I'm good, let's go get started," his mom spoke up, shrugging off her jacket and hanging it on the coat hook. "Let's get started. I've got some cool shit to show you."
With the two of them gone, Shane was left alone in the lobby. His phone chimed again and he grinned when he saw that it was from Kylee, showing off a picture of her cat laying across her chest in a way that was clearly disruptive.
Don't know who is cuter here Three bubbles appeared showing Kylee typing a response, but they vanished after a moment before reappearing.
You're shameless lol
Only around someone so beautiful 😘
Uh huh. I bet you say that to all the girls
Kylee! I'm offended you would think so lowly of me. I've never had the pleasure of getting to know an absolute flower goddess
There was a pause before she answered back and he could imagine the way that she might be blushing right now as she read his words.
You're something else, has anyone ever told you that?
I may have heard it before but I've never been so curious as to what someone meant when they said it as i am with you
Another pause and he found himself watching the screen eagerly.
It's a good thing
Well then i'm honored The phone at the parlour rang at that point, taking him out of his conversation with Kylee and back to his work. Things picked up after that with a walk in that wanted a simple enough tattoo that Shane knew that it could be done before his next appointment and that appointment lead him to the end of his work day so it wasn't until that evening that he really got to text with Kylee but she understood. After a dinner that consisted of some take out, he put on a sort of mindless show in the background and got back to texting Kylee. It was past the two of them talking about anything specific, more just asking random questions and going with it.
How many tattoos do you have anyway?
Shane had to stop for a moment to count all of them, thinking hard. He was sure that he was forgetting some though, so he pulled up the photos that he kept of all the tattoos that he'd gotten and counted them that way. Sure enough, he'd forgotten one on his back and he had to consider if his above knee, bologna one counted as two or not.
15 or so depending on how you count them.
Wow that's a lot more than I thought just looking at you.
I've gotta get my sleeve done at some point but I know the healing time is gonna be a bitch on it so i've been putting it off, so i'll definitely have more but I can send some pictures if you want.
The three dots went between being visible and not being visible.
Sure.
He carefully looked at the photos, trying to decide which would be best to send. The purpose might have been to show off his tattoos but it didn't mean that he wasn't aware that he had a golden opportunity to send some photos that Kylee might appreciate.
The ones of his legs were easy enough to select, they focused more on showing off the tattoos themselves and the works of art they were.
Is that a pun about your knees on your right leg? lol
My mom said it was stupid but I thought it was hilarious so, yes it is.
I think it's pretty funny.
Thank you I'll tell her that a beautiful woman appreciates my sense of humor. Next he selected one that showed off the few pieces he had on his back, carefully taking one that made his shoulders look nice as he sent it over. The main piece there was a large dragon the end of whose tail just curled around the edge of his neck. It'd hurt like a bitch but it looked very badass.
Wow that dragon is incredible. Did it hurt?
Oh yeah lol it was a bitch especially around the neck but so worth it. I don't like to hype it up too much though or Elsie gets a big head and she doesn't need it
I don't know.. seems like she's talented enough to deserve some praise
And occasionally I give it to her but don't worry her clients hype up her art well enough. And all the instagram followers who are always commenting how amazing her shit is when they're not calling her a badass
Really, Shane didn't think that Elsie was anymore badass than him but it seemed that other people did not agree because she was always getting called a badass. What, just because she drove a motorcycle and had both of her sleeves done and wore a leather jacket like it was a uniform she was more badass than him? Absolutely not.
The tiny tattoo of a hand flipping someone off on her middle finger was kind of badass though. When his mom had done it he'd been a little jealous.
He was getting off the point.
Unfortunately, it seemed that Kylee agreed though.
I'll admit that she's got that badass vibe kind of intimidating 😂
🙄 don't let her hear you say that she loves to intimidate people
I won't That's not 15 that you've showed?
Right, how could I let us get off topic from my beautiful body art?
I don't know either lol
The last photo was one that he was the most selective over as it would show off his torso. Sure, he wasn't shredded like Kevin but there were some photos that showed off his body in a bit more advantageous way. Plus, one of the tattoos on his lower stomach did dip down a bit under where his boxers typically sat. For that reason, he picked one that had his waistband pulled down to see the edge of the tattoo. And perhaps, the grey sweatpants that he was wearing in them could give a certain hint of a bulge in them.
If he did say so himself, it was a hot picture. One of his favorite that he'd taken because it was suggestive as hell and managed to show off all of the tattoos that he was so proud of.
When he sent it over though there was no reaction from Kylee. He could see that she'd seen it but after that it seemed that she just had left. No bubbles appeared, nothing else happened for several minutes.
He looked at the picture, worried if it was maybe a bit too much for her? But no, she hadn't seemed to be against anything that he had done that had hinted toward wanting a sexual relationship with her.
After a few minutes though he started to doubt himself, so he went over to the group chat that he kept with Elsie and Karen.
ink master [chesttats.img] is there something wrong with this picture?
bad bitch it's wrong that it's currently on my screen
lesbian princess your dick looks crooked
ink master bad crooked or...
bad bitch your dick looks fine i don't want to see it though
ink master
you aren't, you're seeing the outline
lesbian princess why did flower girl respond badly to it?
bad bitch i'm seeing more than i want to
ink master she hasn't responded at all
lesbian princess probably cause her hands are busy
ink master really? you think so?
bad bitch unfortunately she's probably right
ink master
aww you think i'm hot
bad bitch say that again and i'll chop your dick off
ink master noted
At that point he saw Kylee's conversation come back live and he quickly switched over to it with his heart pounding, feeling somewhat disappointed at what he saw
Those are pretty elaborate pieces, they must have taken a while
Nothing at all about the photo. Perhaps it wasn't as hot as he thought it was or as Elsie and Karen lead him to believe. They did but I'm happy with the way that they all turned out so I can't complain
You do look great
I try Then deciding to be a bit bold he texted
Although they look better in person
A beat passed and then she typed back
I guess I'll see in a few days if that's true
"Fuck yes!" he cheered, pumping his fist. This was the kind of reaction that he'd wanted. He screenshotted the conversation and posted it into the group chat.
lesbian princess guess I'm having a sleepover at your place that night, El
bad bitch fine but it's movie night with Chloe
lesbian princess 😒 like i don't know that it's movie night with Chloe
ink master GLAD YOU'VE SORTED IT OUT CAUSE I'LL BE GETTING IT
bad bitch I wish I had her number so I could send this to her
ink master you're a cruel person, Elsie and I can't believe you'd ruin my chance at happiness like this
bad bitch don't forget it
lesbian princess don't worry, I've got your back
ink master and that's why you're the real one
He switched back to the text thread with Kylee.
Can't wait
It seemed the next date was more high pressure than originally thought but he planned on leaving it with Kylee only have great things to say about him.

The thing about looking forward to an event was that it meant that the event seemed to take a lot longer to get there. At least, it was the case for Shane who was waiting anxiously for the time that he’d be able to go on his next date with Kylee.
To make matters worse, he was surrounded by people who were not at all sympathetic about the wait that he had to face. Elsie had told him, “If you say one more thing about it not being time for your Kylee date I will take my needle to your eye” after spending a day working with him.
It was unnecessarily violent and unkind. He didn’t appreciate it at all.
Karen kept acting like it was about to be his first time hooking up with someone and offering ‘tips’ to make sure that he ‘kept her wanting to come back for more’.
It was rude. He didn’t need any tips because he was quite talented in bed and he’d never had a woman complain before. He told her as much and she’d muttered something about arrogant men always thinking that they knew women’s bodies that he chose not to hear.
Sure, tons of guys were not in tune with what women actually liked but he was not one of those men and he was planning on making sure that Kylee was very satisfied with him.
Each day that they were both at work, he stopped over during his break to chat with her when there weren't customers that she had to serve. In addition, they texted one another each day trading jokes and anecdotes like it was nothing.
When, on the day of the date, Kylee texted asking if he would mind a more casual date, he’d immediately been on board.
We can do takeout at my place
Sounds great Just give me your address
And he knew that it was going down that night. He’d already thought that it might be (hoped it might be, with how often he’d woken up hard as a rock after dreams of Kylee wrapped around him or down on her knees) but the confirmation made it seem like they were on the same page.
He’d cleaned his apartment, made sure that his sheets were freshly washed and tidied up all of Karen’s makeup and shit in the bathroom even though he knew that she was going to tell him off for “fucking up her organization system”. Usually he didn’t mind that her half of the counter was filled with products that were very loosely grouped together in a shattered fashion but he was not about to leave anything to chance today. No, he was going full out to impress Kylee.
He showered before she arrived, put on a shirt that was just a little too tight around his arms so that she’d be drawn to them and pants that were tight enough to make his ass look great but not so tight that they’d be difficult to get out of.
By the time that she was buzzing at the door he was ready and confident about the place, inviting her up with a smile and going over to open the door. They were only ont he second floor and it wasn’t long for her to turn the corner.
Like usual, she looked incredible. She’d chosen a dress that was tight to her top but flared out at the waist. It was short enough that he was certain that if she bent to pick up anything it’d show off her ass. As it was, her legs were on display looking long and toned and perfect. The tight top gave her cleavage a good lift and he found his eyes drawn to her breasts, wanting to trace along the tops of them with his tongue.
She smiled as she saw him waiting. “Hey,” she said, leaning up to press a short kiss against his lips in greeting.
“Hey,” he answered, pushing past the urge to drag her into a much more intense kiss. Instead, he stepped aside to allow her entry into the apartment.
She walked inside and looked around appreciatively. “Thanks for having me. It’s really nice.”
“Of course,” he answered. “I haven’t ordered any food yet, I wasn’t sure if you’d be hungry yet or not.”
“Oh, I’m not really hungry yet,” she answered with a short shrug. “I was thinking we could eat a little later.”
He nodded. “Sure thing. Was there something that you wanted to do in the meantime?”
If it were up to him he’d already be stripping her dress off of her to see what sort of underwear she had worn today. He hoped it was something lacy and sheer, something that he’d be able to see her nipples through easily once they got hard and that might offer him a hint of her taste if he happened to mouth over her clit through them.
She gave him a sort of teasing look with just a hint of innocence that made him want to push her onto the table and kiss her hard and sloppy while sneaking his hand under her skirt. “I thought we’d figure it out,” she answered as she made her way over to the couch. “After all, we seem to often be on the same page.”
He followed her over to the couch, sitting down next to her with a grin, letting his eyes linger on her cleavage obviously. “That is true.”
She didn’t seem offended by his obvious checking her out, instead she gave a sly sort of smile. “So Shane, was is it that you’re wanting to do?”
“You,” he answered instantly, giving her a smirk as he caught her brown eyes with his own.
Her laugh was real and ringing. “Straight to the point.”
“I can’t help it, I’ve wanted you since I first saw you,” he confessed. “You’re incredibly beautiful.”
A light pink dusted the tops of her cheeks but she gave a smile. “You’re pretty handsome yourself.”
“Well thank you,” he answered with a satisfied grin and a wink.
She shook her head lightly at his antics but her breath caught in her throat as he closed the distance between the two of them to kiss her heatedly. The positioning was a bit odd with both of them sitting side by side but he tangled a hand into her dark curls as he worked on kissing her breathless.
Kylee was on board from the way that she instantly sunk into the kiss, her own hand coming up to grip at the back of his neck and press herself closer despite the strange angle.
He fixed that soon enough, shifting onto his knees and pushing her to lay back onto the couch before climbing over her. His tongue ran across her bottom lip and when she opened her mouth he allowed it to tangle with her own.
Then his hand was moving down her body, cupping her breast through the fabric of her dress and finding himself delighted that there wasn’t any padding that would make it more difficult to palm her through the dress.
Kylee made a soft whimpering sound into the kiss that he wanted more of. He allowed his hand to move further down her body, slipping up under the skirt and dragging up the inside of her thigh. Her legs spread slightly under him, giving him easier access to her. He didn’t take it yet though, stopping just before he could reach where she wanted him most. Instead, he moved his hand to the other side and trailed his fingers up the soft skin there.
His lips moved from her own and he started trailing kisses down the side of her neck, exploring the skin thoroughly to find the places that got little whimpers out of her as his fingers continued their taunting journeys up and down the inside of her thighs.
When he let his lips follow along the edge of her dress, the skin of the top of her breasts under his lips with his teeth grazing along a few times he felt her pressing herself closer to him and he decided that it was time to start getting the clothes out of the way.
“Is it alright if I take this off?” he asked, his hands moving to the hem of her skirt.
“Yes,” she breathed, nodding eagerly.
Quickly, he got the garment out of the way, tossing it aside and taking her in. She wasn’t wearing lacy underwear or a lacy bra. Instead she had on a sleek demi-cup bra that looked like it just barely contained her nipples and a matching thong that was already starting to disappear between her lips. He wanted to taste her desperately.
Her hands were already on the buttons of his shirt, eagerly working them open and then pushing it off of his shoulders. She ran her hands over his chest, nails dragging along the lines of the tattoos present. It seemed that her eyes were drawn to the tattoo that was only partly visible and he noticed her biting down on her bottom lip.
It wasn’t that Shane could blame her, he was already feeling his cock quickly stirring to life from the small amount of physical action and the sight of her body in that damn matching bra and panty set.
Moving his lips back to her skin, he pushed one of the cups down to reveal her breast and immediately used his tongue to tease it into a peak. Kylee’s moan above him was paired with an arching of her back and he used his other hand to let his fingers play with the neglected breast.
When he felt like he wasn’t getting enough of her skin he finally used his hand to unhook the bra and get it out of the way. Then he kissed his way over to the other breast so that he could take it into his mouth as well.
Kylee continued to make pleased moans and whimpers and at some point had wrapped her legs around him, pulling his bottom half closer to her and occasionally grinding against him clearly searching for some sort of friction.
He was feeling generous - or needy, possibly, with how hard he was in his own pants - so he moved his lips back up her body until he could kiss her and then let himself grind down into her. She let out a breathy moan, biting down on his bottom lip.
Fuck she was hot as hell and he needed to do what he had to do to make sure that she was good and ready for him.
Hell, ideally he could get her begging underneath him.
With that in mind, he pulled away from her and used his hand to pull the thong off of her body. It was a shame that he hadn’t gotten to admire her ass in it but that was a regret for later. Now he let his lips move down her body.
It seemed when he got to her stomach that she realized what he was going to do. “Oh, you don’t have-”
“To eat you out?” he finished, raising an eyebrow as he looked up at her. “But I’m hungry and I bet you taste so good.”
Kylee’s long eyelashes fluttered closed and he could she her swallow hard. Again he imagined her swallowing him down, the lips wrapped around him and her eyes closing as she sucked him hard. That was for another time. Right now she was nodding.
“Glad you approve,” he smirked and continued on the path down her body.
This time there wasn’t the same avoidance, no, he allowed himself to flatten his tongue and lick a stripe up from her pussy to the top of her clit.
He was right, she did taste good. And she was wet. Wet enough that he knew even without giving her an orgasm when he came up his face would be covered in her juices. The thought made him throb in excitement.
What bigger turn on was there than knowing that you were absolutely blowing the fuck out of your girl’s mind?
Being good at eating pussy out was something that he took pride in, so he put his skill onto display. Well, not all of it because he wasn’t trying to get her over the edge right now. Still, he went between her clit and down to occasionally dip his tongue inside of her. Each time he did that she shuddered and gripped tighter to his hair and he had to stop himself from smirking against her.
He didn’t bring his fingers in at this stage, though it would have been very easy to sink them into her heat.
Her body started to tense more and more as he went on and he decided that he was at a good enough place to take things further but when he went to pull away she clamped her legs around his head for the briefest moment before she realized what she was doing and immediately righted herself.
When Shane looked up, Kylee’s cheeks were flushed. “As much as I’d love to stay between these legs all night, I’m really wanting to be inside of you now.”
Kylee’s dark eyes seemed to go darker and she nodded, reaching for his pants. “God yes.”
The two of them worked at it and got his pants and boxers out of the way and his dick immediately swung up toward his stomach once it was free, the pre-cum already wetting the head. “Oh fuck,” she swore as she took him in. “Can I?” Then she licked her lips and he swore that he was going to die on the fucking spot because she was so perfect and sexy that she couldn’t be real.
“A little, but not too much or I won’t make it to actually fucking you,” he cautioned.
She nodded and pushed at his shoulder so that he was the one that was laying back and then she went straight for the top of his damn tattoo and traced the damned thing down with her tongue.
“Holy shit,” he murmured, threading his hand through her dark hair as he watched her almost reverently follow the edges.
She looked up and shot him a devilish grin before she moved over and took him in in one clean motion. Her lips wrapping around him and her tongue caressing his dick where it rested against it. The brown eyes were meeting his own blue-green ones and she bobbed her head in a move that should have been fucking illegal.
In person she was even more devistating than his fantasies had been and he had no clue how the fuck he was supposed to last when she looked like this. With her perfect body and her big brown eyes and amazing tongue.
“Christ, Kylee.”
She repeated it again and he reached to steady her. “Okay I might have to call it even earlier if it’s gonna be like this,” he admitted. “It’s too damn much.”
Almost immediately she pulled back, giving an exaggerated final lick as she did so.
“Give me a moment to grab a condom,” he told her, reaching to his pants where he’d had one in the pocket. It was almost embarrassing how he almost fumbled the damn thing trying to get it on in his eagerness but Kylee on gave a good natured laugh.
“Don’t you know that patience means you get it done right the first time?” she asked teasingly.
“Hard to be patient when your wet dreams come to life,” he shot back, moving back to the couch and pulling her down so that he could have her laying back comfortably while he got in between her legs.
“You’ve been dreaming about this?”
“Excessively,” he answered, lining himself up and then finally allowing himself to push into her. As suspected, she felt incredible around him and he immediately knew that he’d want to do this again and again. She moaned as he filled her, rolling her hips into him and breathing heavily as she looked up at him. “Me too,” she admitted.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
It didn’t seem like she needed much time for adjustment so he allowed himself to start moving against her, his thrusts starting without much force but at a decent speed. After all, they both wanted one another so much.
“You feel so much better than I thought you would,” he told her, moving his hand to her breast to tease her nipple.
She gave a pleased moan whether at the words or the action he didn’t know but she wrapped a leg around him, pulling him in more and allowing his dick into her at a slightly different angle. It was incredible.
He wanted more of her, needed more of her. He picked up the pace, thrusting harder into her wet pussy and revealing in the sounds of it. In the sounds of the two of them, their breathing and moans and little whimpers that each of them couldn’t help but hold back.
“Shane, right there,” she breathed when he hit a particularly good spot.
Wanting to give her what she wanted, he obeyed and hit the same spot again and again, enjoying the way that her eyes fluttered closed and she moaned under him. The moaning soon turning into a small chant of the word yes again and again.
He could feel his own orgasm building but he focused on her, not realising that he was babbling as he did so.
“Is that what you want? You want me to give you it hard and fast?”
Kylee’s repetition of the word yes did not stop though it was broken apart by moans as her body tensed more and more. He knew that she was right on the edge and he wanted to get her there.
“Come on beautiful, you can do it,” he encouraged her. “Cum on my cock. I wanna feel that pussy squeeze me good.”
His words seemed to do the trick because only a moment later she was cumming, her face changed in pleasure as she let out little whimpers. And her pussy was squeezing him, trying to pull the orgasm out of him.
He decided to go ahead and give into it, groaning as he sunk into her a few more times and rutted against her before burying his head into her chest and taking some deep breaths. After a moment, he moved away, pulling out and tying up the condom so that he could neatly take it to the garbage.
“You know,” Kylee spoke up when he came back over. “I think that I’m ready for that take out now.”
He laughed, watching as she got her dress back on. “I’ll see what we can get delivered.”
She turned and gave him a bright smile and he a feeling that this date would count as a success.
