PERSONALITY
Isla takes little from either of her parents in terms of her personality - besides being the outgoing type. She loves being the center of attention and she is quite vain, wanting to put her best foot forward at all times and thinking very highly of herself. No is not an answer that she takes lightly and she isn't afraid to push back in any way that she can to get those around her to change their minds. While she is friendly with everyone, she tends to come off as cold and a bit fake - probably because the amount of care that she actually has for anyone is fairly low. Her friends are more aptly described as frienemies and she never wants to get too close to anyone. It isn't so much that she's afraid of getting hurt, but just that she doesn't like making herself vulnerable and so never wants to open up to others, not wanting them to feel like they have anything that they could ever hold over her if they wished to.
Unlike her siblings, Isla has always excelled academically. She's naturally got an easy learning rhythm, picking up on new ideas and activities with ease. That isn't to say that she can't struggle at points, but she has never needed to strive very hard for her high grades. As a result, she can come across as a bit of a know-it-all, easily throwing out corrections to other people's misinformation. She is extremely ambitious, however, looking to get ahead in whatever way that she needs to. She had large goals and she wants to make them come true, so she isn't really particular on the paths that she needs to take to get there. For the things that she loves, she's willing to work hard and put in the effort. However, if she's not interested in something she is more than okay with just doing the bare minimum to keep her chances of success from being hurt. She's not prone to dramatics, despite what people might assume of her, being much more level headed than her sister or her mother and with a cold temper that is much worse for those who cause it to explode.
In terms of relationships, Isla simply doesn't have the time for them. Between her schooling, her dancing and her socializing she isn't willing to devote herself to one person at this point. Flirting and casual flings are the only thing that she's willing to put herself through right now and she doesn't see a problem with that - frankly the idea of trying to find a lasting partner in high school seems laughable to her even though her parents managed it. Romance is something that can wait until she's accomplished everything that she wishes to get done. Until then, she'll see boys when she's got the time or inclination and leave them just as quickly.
LIKES AND DISLIKES
Isla's favorite color is fuchsia, but she's not a fan of orange. She loves summer, but could do without fall. She's a cat person, but she hates monkeys. She could eat vegetable paella any day of the week, and she craves sorbet most often, but she doesn't eat meat, and dislikes brownies. She's not a coffee drinker, she much prefers flavored water. She likes dancing and shopping, but she doesn't enjoy watching sports. Her best subject in school is History, and her worst is Languages.
APPEARANCE
Isla takes her fair looks after both of her parents. She keeps her blonde hair long and loves finding new ways to wear it, never wanting to be seen as someone who lets her look become stagnant. She knows she's got pleasant features with a straight nose that isn't too large and somewhat thin lips, her fair skin is usually clear. Her makeup routine is very solid and she makes sure to accentuate her light blue eyes every time. It's very important for her to look good, so she keeps up to date on all the trends. It also means that she spends a very large amount of time in front of the mirror every day and checking up on her looks throughout the day. If there are specific events it isn't uncommon for her to change outfits for them either, never trusting a day to night look when she could just as easily pull something new.
FAMILY DYNAMICS
Isla doesn't have a bad relationship with her parents, but it isn't close either. She finds her father to be very dull and doesn't enjoy spending time with him for that reason, thinking him kind but flat. On the other end of the spectrum, she does spend measured amounts of time with her mother as they both love dance and she can be a good shopping partner, however her bubbly ways can start to grate on Isla after a while and she is quick to make excuses to leave once her mom starts getting too emotional about anything. Despite that, she knows that she can always go to her parents and does not hesitate to do so when she needs something - after all, it's their job to help her accomplish her goals and she isn't going to throw away any extra boost that can get her to where she wants to be.
Her relationship with her siblings isn't much better. She has the same problems with them as she does with her parents, finding Aspen to be too much and a bit of an idiot and Kyle to be too boring to waste her time on. If she's around them and she must interact she will, but she isn't reaching out to them and if they reach out to her she only responds when it works into her schedule. At times she also has a bit of jealousy toward Aspen, especially if she shows aptitude toward a certain dance style that Isla struggles more with. She'd never let her know that she was jealous though and instead sort of ices her out while she works to get herself onto her sister's level before things can go back to normal. Quite honestly, she's never found reason to be jealous of Kyle - most of the time she kind of forgets that he is a part of the family.
