PERSONALITY
From early on, Emmy has always had a quiet, unassuming kind of vibe about her. A bit on the shy side, she hates being the center of attention, much preferring to fade to the background, and although she's grown to be better at speaking her mind over the years, she's still not particularly inclined to speaking up unless necessary. She absolutely hates confrontation, to the point where it can easily make her feel incapacitated when put in a position where she has to try and counter someone's statements, and will do whatever she can to avoid being put in a situation where she might have to have any sort of argument or debate with another person. It has unfortunately given her a bit of a reputation as a push over, and group projects have always been a nightmare for her for that very reason, often getting saddled with all the work because the other students know she likely won't kick up a fuss about it. Thankfully, she's managed to find herself a close knit group of friends who always try to ensure she's not taken advantage of, whether in school or in life.
Although she has a very gentle demeanor, she doesn't mind being in more lively settings - she's what one might call a social introvert, appreciating certain situations that take place in a group if she feels comfortable enough with her surroundings. After all, even if she's not one to be the life of the party, doesn't mean she can't appreciate one. She wears her heart on her sleeve and is always willing to lend a helping hand - her weekends are typically filled with volunteering commitments, and she's always trying to find ways on how she can do more for others. She has a nurturing presence that typically makes people feel instantly at ease in her presence, and it was no surprise to anyone when she decided to pursue counseling in college, with the intention of specializing as a child therapist. There have been times in her past when she has felt inadequate, because she didn't quite measure up to some of her ideals or even some of the people in her life whom she loves and admires, but she's learned that there is strength in kindness, and that she can use that power to make a difference in her own way. After all, it takes all sorts of people to make a world, and she's doing her part by being exactly who she is.
Because of her reserved nature, relationships didn't come very easily to her, finding it hard at times to get to know new people. She has tried dating apps in an attempt to ease herself into the process, with quite horrifying results which lead to the deletion of every single dating profile she'd created. As it turned out, her love life ended up turning into a bit of a 'right in front of you the whole time' situation when her childhood best friend, whom she'd had a secret crush on for years, never speaking of it for fear of ruining their friendship, confessed his love for her in their Freshman year of college. He was the first romantic partner she ever had, and she's quite intent on making sure he'll remain the only one as well.
LIKES AND DISLIKES
Emmy's favorite color is orange, and she's not a fan of olive. She loves winter, and could do without spring. She's a dog person, and she hates rodents. She could eat ramen any day of the week, and she craves creme brulee most often, but she hardly ever eats cheese, and dislikes strawberry ice cream. She's not a juice drinker, she much prefers flavored water. She loves to dance and do martial arts, but dislikes doing the dishes. Her best subject in school is Gym, and her worst is Math.
APPEARANCE
Emmy is one of those people whose looks match her personality in many ways, as her features are quite as soft as she is. Her dark brown hair frames her oval shaped face in waves, falling a few inches below her shoulders. Her brown eyes are full of kindness, her nose just slightly, adorably upturned, and her lips form a practically constant pleasant smile. She's not very tall, standing one inch shorter than her mom at 5'3, and her body definitely falls under the petite category, with modest curves. She doesn't generally wear makeup, except for certain special occasions, and is very meticulous about her skincare routine. Her fashion sense is a bit more on the flowy side, not one to opt for tight fitting clothes, and she'll choose flats or sneakers over heels any day in spite of her small stature. Although she appears quite meek, she's far from defenseless though, her mother having shared her passion of martial arts with her from a young age, wanting to give her all the tools she might need to protect herself. In spite of the fact that people wouldn't expect it of her based on both her appearance and personality, she absolutely loves it and uses it to this day as both a way to keep herself in shape and a safety precaution.
FAMILY DYNAMICS
With parents like hers, even though she's grown up as an only child, she'd never felt like she was missing out on anything. From early childhood, Emmy has viewed her mother as quite possibly one of the most amazing women in the world. Her desire to live life to its fullest, her thirst for adventure, her no back down attitude, it's everything she aspired to be as a child. Of course, in the meantime, she's grown into her own person, but the admiration hasn't faded any for it. She cherishes the bond she has with her - she considers her one of her closest friends and her confidente, and she always goes with her for any advice she might need. Although her father's personality is so drastically different from her mom's, Emmy is still very close to him, if in a different way. Her dad shows his love in a much more muted fashion, but she knows it doesn't mean he cares for her any less, and that it's just the way he is. She's not as likely to have long, personal conversations with him as she might with her mom, but she will still gladly talk with him about anything going on in the world, and his presence has always been comforting to her.
