After several hours on the road, it was an understatement to say that Taylor was relieved once they parked into the lot of the hotel they'd be staying at for the night. She'd sent a text to Andrea after their plans to stop at a restaurant for dinner had changed due to the long wait, but she hadn't heard back from her, figuring she must have started getting ready for bed - it would have been a long day for her as well. She was feeling ready to rest her head against a pillow as well at this point, but she was also fairly hungry, so she figured she would join the rest of the group in the hotel restaurant before heading up to get some sleep. Besides, if Andrea and Zane were already getting into bed, she didn't want to get in too late and wake them up. It didn't take very long for everybody to get checked in, and after they'd gotten their key cards, Milo elected to bring up their bags to the room while they headed to the restaurant to grab a table, accompanied by Connor and Tyler who took the same trip to their respective rooms. As she watched her husband head down the hall to the elevator, she caught a look on both Addie and Holly's faces that she didn't quite get, but she knew better than to ask as they made their way to the restaurant and got their table for six rather easily, as the place was near empty. It wasn't long before everybody else had returned, and instantly she could tell there was something off with Milo as he slumped into the chair across from her. "What's wrong?" she asked with a light frown.

Milo was trying very hard not to think too much about what he had heard, but it seemed almost impossible to do so. The problem was that he would have to see the two of them later and really, he'd tried to pretend that Andrea was leading a celibate life. She was his baby girl, even if she was now a grown woman who was most of the way through her bachelor's degree it didn't matter. He wanted to keep thinking of her as that little girl and it was much harder to do with hard evidence staring him in the face. It made him both uncomfortable and a bit grumpy to have his illusions shattered so thoroughly. Then, once he was sitting down Taylor had to go and ask him what was wrong. No one would believe that there was nothing wrong, and honestly he wanted to rant about it so he didn't hold back. "What's wrong is that I just had to hear my baby girl engaging in very adult activities in the bathroom that we are sharing with her tonight," he explained, glaring over at Holly as the blonde snorted. "This is not funny, Holly. I want to throw that nursing student off the ship."

Honestly, the moment Milo had headed up to the room to drop off his bags, Addie had known he was about to walk in on something. Taylor had mentioned that she would text her eldest daughter to keep her up to date on how long it would be until they arrived at the hotel, and she had little doubt that she wouldn't make the most of that bonus time. Therefore, once Milo returned downstairs with a disturbed and unhappy look on his face, it took a lot of willpower not to just laugh. That willpower went away as Taylor asked what was wrong, and he told them he'd just walked in to hear the young girl and her boyfriend having sex in the bathroom. Clearly Holly felt similarly about the whole thing as she did too as she heard the blonde snort, shaking her head a bit as he went on to add that he now wanted to throw the nursing student off the ship. "I'm sure that's new," she spoke a bit sarcastically. "Besides, if you weren't in so much denial about your daughters having sex, maybe you'd have thought better of going up there at all," she added. "And it could have been worse. At least they were in the bathroom. Could've been on the bed," she pointed out, ignoring the look Taylor threw at her which indicated that the brunette did not think her helpful to the situation.

Milo glared at Addie when she decided to insert herself into this conversation. She might be his best friend but clearly she could never understand where he was coming from here. For one thing, she only had sons and for another she did not have the same over protective nature over her sons as he had over his daughters. It wasn't that he didn't trust his daughters, he just didn't trust the world with them. They were too precious and good and no one was good enough for them. The idea that they could have been on the bed was not one that he liked and he flipped Addie off in response. "You are zero help here at all, Addison," he said, his tone short. "And I'm very certain that this is all his fault because our Andrea is very considerate in general. If not for him this wouldn't have happened at all." Really, he was happy that his daughter was happy with her boyfriend but he wished that she could have found a better boyfriend to be happy with. One that was more considerate, and less tall and stoic. None of those were traits that he thought paired well.

Addie was very much unaffected by Milo's glare, rolling her eyes at the way he flipped her off just because she pointed out that he was the one who could have thought this one through a little more. She'd never coddled her sons, she certainly wasn't about to start coddling her grown ass best friend because he was disillusioned over his daughters' habits. Hearing him say that the boyfriend was to blame though, she couldn't help but give a snort, shaking her head as she pulled the drinks menu toward her - she'd been thinking she might skip on the alcohol tonight, seeing as she was already fairly tired, but if she had to deal with this side of Milo for the rest of the evening, she would need a drink. "There could have been a message hanging on the wall, saying 'Zane, come fuck me in the shower', signed 'Andrea', and you would still try to pin the blame on him," she spoke with a light shrug as she read through the menu. "Besides, it's not inconsiderate to have sex in a hotel bathroom when you think nobody else is gonna be in the room. Having sex in a mall dressing room, now, that would be inconsiderate," she trailed off with a slight tilt of her head.

Taylor, of course, was very familiar with Milo's stance on their daughters' dating lives. Of the three of them, Andrea's was the one he had the hardest time reconciliating himself with. Not to say that he hadn't had his doubts about both Thomas and Chloe - and still did sometimes - but it was a bit more outlandish to distrust kids he'd been around for their entire lives than a complete stranger. It also came down to personalities - Karen was headstrong, and if Emily had her own sensitive nature, Thomas was about as harmless a person as one could imagine. Andrea, on the other hand, had always strived to please people, sometimes to her own detriment, so it wasn't entirely out there to imagine that she might not always hold her own in a relationship. At least, that was the way he might excuse it. Taylor could see how incredibly happy their daughter was with her boyfriend, though, even if he was maybe a little different from the kind of person they might have expected her to fall for. She didn't say much as he started explaining what had happened, giving a bit of a sigh at the conversation that followed, although when Addie had to go and bring up having sex in a dressing room, she gave the redhead a bit of a look herself. "I don't think that was necessary," she informed her.

Milo's glare toward Addie only darkened as she mentioned that Andrea might have left a message on the wall because, again, that was not Andrea like activity and that was the problem. After all, she was just making up things now to try and get a rise out of him - admittedly, it was kind of working too though he was trying to keep himself from showing it. Especially since her way of doing it now was only serving to make Taylor uncomfortable and he gave a nod as his wife told Addie off. Whenever he got Taylor to back him up it made his whole argument all the more legitimate. "It wasn't, was it?" he echoed.
On Addie's side, Connor threw a look over to Milo that said that he wasn't feeling sorry for him either. "If I remember correctly, you weren't telling anyone not to laugh at me when I had to hear Elsie and Kevin," he threw in. "So, suck it up. At least you only had to hear a little bit of it."
"Okay, no one forced you to stay at home," Milo shot back to Connor. "The point is here, that I didn't want this knowledge and now I have to live with it. And I have to look at them very soon."
"How traumatic," Connor replied, sarcasm dripping from his tone. "I really feel for you having to run into them fully clothed afterward. Especially since you knew that they were a couple and already should have known that they were sleeping together."
Clearly, Connor was trying to shift the focus to himself and Milo wasn't having it. "Okay, we're past your stuff. We're into my stuff now. You've had your time, it's my time."

Nobody at the table was surprised about Milo's antics right now, but his refusal to accept his eldest daughter's boyfriend did somewhat bug Addie. Having watched Andrea grow older, seeing her throughout the few relationships she had entered in high school and the ensuing refusal to settle for anyone who didn't fit certain characteristics had worried her. Her behavior in itself hadn't changed - she had remained the same kind hearted, helpful girl she'd always been, and she hadn't appeared closed off, but it had made Addie wonder nonetheless just where that list had come from. Of course, Milo had loved that list, because it depicted someone who simply could not exist. The few times she had gotten to spend time with Andrea over the past year, however, had made it clear just how happy she was. Her perfect match maybe hadn't been the one she had expected, but Zane's personality made sense to Addie as far as being well suited for her godchild. Andrea did have certain tendencies that weren't the best - her self sacrificing manners, her need to please everybody and never put herself first. She needed someone to remind her that it was okay to be selfish sometimes, and that having someone not like her didn't equate failure. Zane was a no nonsense kind of person, so he was bound to give those reminders. "The main difference being, Connor didn't threaten to have Elsie offed after he found out she was having sex with his son," she pointed out. "Nor did Holly and Tyler feel a murderous rage toward Kevin when they found out," she added quickly before he could claim that it was different because Kevin was a boy, and he was older. "You're trying to turn this into yet another reason to not like your daughter's boyfriend, which is ridiculous because everyone can see how happy Andrea is with him," she went on. "So yes, you should suck it up. We didn't drive all the way down here to be stuck on a ship with your grumpy ass for a week."

Years of friendship meant that Milo loved Addie as if she was his family. In fact, she was what some people would call a kindred spirit to him, someone he couldn't live his life without. However, that did not mean that she couldn't also be a giant pain in his ass because she, of everyone, knew exactly what buttons to push and she, of everyone, called him more on his bullshit than he sometimes wanted. Which was exactly how he was feeling right now as she tried to say that Connor and Holly and Tyler were all better than him because they did not worry about the people their children were deciding to have romantic relationships with. "Fuck off Addison," he grumbled, slumping back in his hair and throwing a look to Taylor that said that he was not going to get over this anytime soon. "It's not my fault none of you try to understand. My girls are special. I'll worry about them as much as I want." Which he had a feeling that he was going to be doing for the rest of his life because as happy as Andrea sometimes appeared with Zane, he still didn't buy entirely that the nursing student treated her as well as she deserved to be treated.
