Leslie felt a little better, having talked to her mom, as she made her way to her bedroom. Of course, she was still not quite back to her normal state, because the events of the evening had shaken her up some, but there really wasn't much for her to do at this point. Looking over at the Christmas tree in the foyer on her way upstairs, she was somewhat hit a bit harder with the craziness of it all. It seemed so odd to think they were the same family that had been celebrating together just the day before, and yet how long had Chace been holding on to this anger and resentment? She pushed the thought out of her mind for the time being, feeling too drained to do much but curl up in bed right now. Pushing her bedroom door open once she reached it and giving Tristan a light smile as she sat him sitting on the bed, glad that they'd somehow made it out of there before his parents had had a chance to take back their approval on him spending the night. Pulling off her jewelry and setting it on her dresser before removing her shoes, making her way over to sit next to him and resting her head against his shoulder.

Tristan didn't think he'd ever been in such an uncomfortable position as he was tonight watching the Aldridge family pretty much implode against one another. He felt like an intruder, not welcome but not willing to leave Leslie's side because clearly she was having difficulty handling all of this. Throughout the ride home he held her hand and when she told him to wait in her bedroom he gave a nod and headed upstairs. He had turned his phone off when things had started to get intense outside and he didn't bother turning it back on now, instead focusing on getting undressed and changing. He wanted to go and brush his teeth as well but when he pulled on the door handle it seemed that it was locked from the inside, so he made due and went to sit on Leslie's bed as he waited for her running through everyone once more and how crazy it was. When his girlfriend came back she seemed a bit more upset than before, like she'd been crying and so when she came and joined him on the bed he wrapped an arm around her to pull her close before pressing a kiss on the top of her head. "Do you need to talk about it?"

In spite of the fact that Leslie knew tonight must have been incredibly awkward for Tristan, she was glad to have him here with her. There was a strong feeling of comfort and safety that came from his presence, and she needed it right now. Giving a slightly shaky sigh as he wrapped an arm around her and pressed a kiss to the top of her head, trying to move herself a bit closer to him still, but shaking her head as he asked if she needed to talk about it. She didn't really think there was much to be said right now, at least nothing that hadn't already been said, or that he didn't already know. He'd been by her side during the short visit her grandfather had paid her tonight, he knew the words that came from him. He'd heard the exchange between Chace and his parents, but she felt he understood that her younger brother was the only one of the Aldridge children who'd felt his parents were aware of what was going on. What more was there to say right now, really? "No," she spoke after a moment of silence. "But can you just... keeping holding me?" she asked in a slightly smaller voice than before.

Tristan really wished that he was better at comforting people. That he knew the words that would help Leslie right now, after the night that she'd had and everything she must be feeling. It'd been bad enough listening to the way that her grandfather addressed her - as if she was somehow unworthy of being related to him. He hadn't thought things could get worse and then they had and he'd felt even more out of control. If Leslie needed to talk the least he could do was listen and he would, but as it turned out she decided that she didn't need to talk about anything. "Of course," he answered as she asked if he could keep holding her. His hand ran along her back gently and he allowed himself to be silent and just hold her for a few minutes before voicing a thought that he felt she needed to hear. It was something that he'd been thinking about the whole evening, but even more as things started to fall apart. He knew his girlfriend, knew she was the type to feel guilty over things and he didn't want that for her. "Hey Leslie?" he started, looking at his girlfriend. "I'd rather be here then anywhere else right now."

There was something nice about knowing that Leslie could just count on Tristan to be there for her whenever she needed him, even in moments like these, where he'd probably spent a good part of the evening wishing he was anywhere but in the midst of the drama. It was also comforting to be close to him, held by him, without needing to really talk about anything, especially what had happened. She knew he'd asked in case it would make her feel better, because he was such a selfless person, and she wasn't worried that he would feel hurt because she didn't actually feel like going back over the events of the night and talking about how she felt about it all. Looking up at him as she heard him say her name though, and she could feel her stomach filling with butterflies as he told her that he'd rather be here than anywhere else right now, totally unprompted, just because he knew that it might be something she needed to hear. Leaning in slightly so she could press a soft kiss to his lips, her hand gently resting against his cheek as she did so. "Thank you," she spoke simply once she pulled away.

Tristan hoped that his words might help Leslie feel a little better, though he knew that they wouldn't make all that much difference in the grand scheme of things. For all people tried to paint her as a very selfish and self involved person, she really was one of the least selfish people that he knew. She really genuinely worried about other people and cared for them. He wanted to help her not worry about him or his place here. The kiss that she gave him after he spoke said that he might have succeeded in that, at least somewhat and he smiled as she pulled away. It made him feel slightly less useless to know tha the might have helped her even for a moment tonight to feel something positive. "Any time," he answered, his voice still quiet as he gently moved his hand through her hair. There were a lot of bad parts to this evening, but this was not going to be one of them. He'd make sure of that, no matter if she needed him just to hold her for the rest of the night in silence. He was happy to help her however she needed it.
