Taylor sighed slightly as Andrea spoke to say she would rather not share with him the fact that she was in a relationship before he was set to head back on the road, which she figured was fair. Glancing over at the clock as she tried to establish how much longer it might be until her husband arrived at their daughter's apartment, figuring they still had a bit of time before they had to worry about that. Raising an eyebrow as the younger girl spoke up once more, this time to say that she'd been hoping maybe she would tell her. Both surprised and not, because on one hand it wasn't like Andrea to hide in her mother's skirt when it came to sharing unpleasant news with her dad, but she couldn't really begrudge her not wanting to deal with her dad's reaction. Thinking back on the tone of her voice earlier as she'd told her about Zane, it was clear that she was still in the honeymoon stage of her relationship, and as such she probably didn't feel like being brought down from her cloud. "I'll tell him, but you know that won't keep him from calling you and saying anything he feels like saying," she warned her. Not that Milo typically showcased his overprotectiveness in front of the girls, but he had his ways.

It was definitely a relief for Andrea to hear her mom agree to giving her dad the news. It wasn't that she expected an angry outburst out of him or anything of the sort, but she knew he wouldn't exactly be happy about it, and she didn't feel like hearing all his questions and attempts at making her return to the single life. Especially once he learned that Zane didn't hit ever point on her obsolete list, because he'd always been very supportive of her being so picky when trying to find a boyfriend. "Thanks, mom," she told her, knowing she spoke the truth when saying her dad would probably still end up calling, but knowing her mother might be able to smooth him out a bit before she had to deal with him. Moving on from the conversation a bit, though it came back to Zane a few times since there were some things she just couldn't help but associate to him at this point, and happily chatting with her mom until she heard the buzzer go off, signaling visitors. "Mom, I think they're here," she told her after a glance at the clock. "I'll talk to you again soon. I love you," she told her, smiling as she ended the call with her mother and set her phone down, quickly getting to her feet to go buzz her sister and dad in.

Taylor was glad to keep chatting with Andrea even once they mostly got off the primary object of her call - although she couldn't help but notice how often Zane's name popped up in their conversation as they kept chatting. She could almost feel happiness radiating from her daughter even over the phone, and it was really hard to describe the kind of feelings it gave to a mother's heart. They chatted for the better part of another half hour or so, until Andrea spoke up to say she thought her father and sister had arrived, adding that she'd talk to her again soon. "I love you too, baby," she told her, sighing lightly as she hung up the phone and set it down on the kitchen table. Sitting still for a few more seconds as she tried to process everything they'd just talked about, finally giving a light smile and forcing herself back to her. She still had groceries to unload, and a bit more cleaning she needed to get done before Milo got back home, at which time she'd probably tackle the subject. Deciding she'd probably make him a batch of chocolate chips brownies to quite literally sweeten the news a bit, she got herself to work. This was bound to turn into an interesting evening.
